And now...the bad guys

Yesterday I posted the Heroes.  Guess it doesn't matter how 'cute' you look, there's always going to be villains around.  We can't have the heroes just sitting around or playing hopscotch.  They need some bad guys to bust.

The more I look at these, the more I see those little Super Hero Squad toys.  I did read a month or so ago about a cartoon based on the toyline for the tiny kids to watch.

I hope it's not too bubbly and sweet.  I'm glad that Marvel is making stuff like this for the little kids.  Some of the regular stuff is not appropriate for them.  They need something they can call their own.  I know some of the older fans will cringe at the thought of this but it's not meant for them.  We need kids to be into the superheroes and comics so that when they get older, they'll continue to buy be into them and start buying comics.  Otherwise in five or ten years, we could see less and less regular comics if there's no money to be made.

How stoked do you think MODOK is to be getting a gig?

Marvel's latest mystery thing.  No idea what they're talking about.

The kiddie image and title makes me think they're trying to encourage people to be a big brother/sister for kids.

Actually now that I think about it (after looking at the image again), it makes me think of the little Marvel Superhero toys.  I think I heard something about a cartoon based on the toyline.  I would much rather have a cartoon based on the Mini Marvels comics.  This toy thing would be geared towards the tiny tots while the Mini Marvels could be a little more...mature.

Huh?

The Answer Is Coming...

I wonder if this has anything to do with those other 'mysterious' ads like the "I Want To Be Good" one.  Those had one color besides black and white.  This one doesn't.  I have no idea.

What is this mysterious image?  Learn the answers to this and many more exciting 2009 plans as Marvel makes their jaw-dropping presentation at the Diamond Retailer Summit tonight.  And check Tuesday for in-depth interviews on all of the major announcements being made!

Marvel: Your Universe

Marvel: Your Universe Is Your Must-Read Guide to Marvel!

This is a great idea.  Try to imagine that you haven't been reading Marvel comics the last few years.  Now imagine you try to pick one up.  Even if you had read them in the past, so much has happened.  So many characters have changed.  Imagine not knowing how or why Captain Amercia is dead, why arent' Spidey and MJ married, why is Tony Stark in charge of SHIELD instead of Nick Fury, why are all these Skrulls running around, why is there a red Hulk?

Actually those of us reading still don't know why there's a red Hulk, but you get the idea.  Marvel is offering a way for new or returning readers to catch up.  What really surprises me is that it'll be free.

Since it's narrated by the Watcher, what would really make it priceless was if he had a black eye from when Red Hulk hit him.

Marvel is proud to unveil the cover to Marvel: Your Universe, by fan favorite artist Tom Raney! Featuring a complete look at the major Marvel events of the last five years, as narrated by Watcher, this is your chance to catch up on everything! Is it all connected? What’s next? These answers and more arrive in Marvel: Your Universe!

Plus, Marvel: Your Universe contains preview material from the new Marvel Handbook hardcovers along with never-before-seen handbook material!***And did we mention that this 32 page must-read comic is absolutely free? That’s right True Believers, Marvel: Your Universe is your guide to comics’ most popular universe and absolutely free!

Hmmm...

San Diego Comic Con Gets HOT as MARVEL and DISGUISE Partner for the First-Ever MARVEL FASHION SHOW!

This year, the sidewalk won’t be the hottest place in San Diego-- it will be in the Marvel Booth!  On Friday, July 25, at 2:00, Marvel Entertainment and Disguise are proud to present their first ever fashion show.   This is no cosplay; these are seriously fierce costumes worn by incredible models, strutting their stuff down the catwalk, for the debut of the sexiest line of costumes ever created and inspired by Marvel super heroes.

Dressing up as a super heroine in the past would have meant spandex and tights.  No more!  Disguise has tossed this old and unflattering cartoonish concept and instead made fashionable, wearable and fun costumes that not only fit great but look fabulous.  These costumes are inspired by some of the hottest and most iconic heroes to grace the pages of Marvel, and this will be your first chance to see them live as they make their Comic-Con debut!

Come see Black Cat, Emma Frost, Spider-Woman, and more as you’ve never seen them- on the runway, as Marvel and Disguise transform Comic Con into Fashion Week, if only for an hour.  The Fashion Show begins in the Marvel Booth (Booth #2429) Friday at 2:00 and will be followed by a photo-op with the models.  For a preview of the costumes, visit this link: http://www.mallsoft.com/disguise/superheroines.html

Check out the fashion and find out how you can not only stop villains, but stop everyone in their tracks at this one-of-a-kind event only at San Diego Comic Con!
