FROM THE LONGBOX : MARVEL SPOTLIGHT # 10

Continuing the "Witchman" storyline that sees the Ghost rider in the desert dealing with an Indian cult. We see Ghost rider rescue Roxxie from being their sacrifice. Unfortunately she had been bitten so it is a race against time to get her to a hospital to administer anti venom.

Another strong summary and opening scene. No new information, but the art is very good. It also sets up a good pace to the story with an ounce or two of Tension.

In the meantime, Snakedances people turn on him led by Sam Silvercloud who wants to give up the barbaric magics. During his fight with Snakedance, Silverclouds daughter Linda Littletree intervenes. Sam tells her what her father had done to Roxxie, but she waits to hear what happened from her own father.

I have to admit this is becoming a strong story, and there have been some well rounded characters. Although Sam Silvercloud has been inconsistant. He pulls a gun on Johnny Blaze, and is almost about to hang Snakedance, but says his people are being barbaric because of their willingness to murder.

There is a bit of a comedic scene where Ghost rider rides his bike into a hospital yells "CAN'T STOP!!" Then in the next panel he stops. Then yells at a doctor to help Roxxie as he sets him on fire. The best thing for any doctor to get motivated is to set his clothes on fire.

I like the character of Linda Littletree right up to the moment she begins praying to satan, then i just face palmed and eye rolled. Everyone in the book is a Satan worshiper. Seriously, the randomness of it all is ridiculous. Especially considering she is so far the moral center of the book.

Over all the story is good, but some of the details need help.
