Young Avengers and FF are the best.

This review is going to be long I'm going to break it down into it's separate stories so that I talk about them in detail, I won't have a good or a bad I'll just put a paragraph for each story and what I thought about each.

    Secret Avengers

Secret Avengers is an upcoming Marvel Now title written by Nick Spencer and has art by Luke Ross. It follows Nick Fury Jr (lame idea) and Agent Coulson (disgrace). They are interrogating a man who just made big on the Stock Market who is believed to be from the future. They interrogate him and he explains what the future holds for America and that's basically all that happens for the whole story it's broken up by the other stories because the Future man (as I'm calling him) says something that leads to the next story like "you don't know what's waiting for you up in the stars" leads into Guardians of the Galaxy then Nova. The breaking up of the sections can be a little jarring when your reading one story and then suddenly your back into Secret Avengers. The story doesn't actually get interesting until the end and your wondering what just happened? The story in conclusion is fairly boring has some great art by Luke Ross who I think will do great on the book and fits the tone well and has a weird conclusion.

    Guardians of the Galaxy

This story is written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Steve Mc Niven. This story is much better although it's not exactly clear what happens definitely is better than the last story. This story takes place 20 years ago with a young Peter quill (starlord) this story moves quite fast as soon as Peter returns home

Aliens invade and blow his mother in half and destroy his house.

This story is not boring and gives you clues about what's going to happen without giving all the details. It's nice to see a young Peter Quill and where he lived. The only bad part of this issue is that it suddenly ends yes this is a one-shot and is meant to get you to buy the series but to leave you with something like this feels a little off. The art by Steve McNiven is good as always although it is strange to see him without Dexter Vine on inks but John Dell does a good job as well. In conclusion Guardians of the Galaxy is a solid story that sets everything up nicely for the series but the ending is a bit sudden and with some great artwork.

    4 stars.

    Nova

This story is written by Jeph Loeb with art by Ed McGuiness. This story is about the new Nova Sam Alexander and this story starts of well with him questioning why he's here and what has recently happened to him but after that it becomes a big brawl between Nova and Diamond Head while fun to see it seems a bit directionless and pointless yes Diamond Head was a Nova villain but just to chuck him in on the first story it doesn't add anything to the story or make me want to buy the comic I will probably give it a try but my expectations aren't very high for it. The Dialogue isn't great either it makes the characters come over as big headed and stupid Nova just seems to chuck Insults at Diamond head and Diamond head just chucks insults at Nova the worst one is "somehow I don't think you need me to turn you into a joke" come on Nova quite insulting and starting fighting your not Spider-man (no offence to Spidey fans). The art isn't great either Ed McGuiness shows of his buly muscles as usual but some of the faces just look to cartoony although some of the pages are pretty spectacular especially the Splash page. In conclusion Nova has a fun yet pointless story with some bad characterization and has some okay art. I don't have high expectations for this series.

    Young Avengers

This story is written by Kieron Gillen with art by Jamie McKlevie and Mike Norton. This story takes place on Earth 212 and it features the first meeting of Miss America and Kid Loki. It starts off with Miss America flying over Earth 212s New York flying over to meet Loki. This story achieves everything a story like this should it sets things up with Loki gathering members for his team this story is interesting with some great action scenes and great Dialogue. one of the things I also loved was Loki. Kieron Gillen just finished a great run on Journey into mystery with him he is still mischievous clever and continues to play with people. To elaborate on the setting up part several possible story arcs are put in place including the Miss America Wiccan conflict because I don't know why but Miss America holds a grudge against Wiccan (who doesn't actually appear but Loki shows an image of him using Asgardian/Korean fusion straight from the house of Volstagg seriously priceless) and Loki is using this grudge to get Miss America to get her to join the Loki's team it's so clever to do this if this story is any indication the Young Avengers should be one of the best series of Marvel Now. But what makes this whole story is that Loki breaks the forth wall it's great to see this and that he has a tick list of everyone he wants on the team and one of them is thousands upon thousands of devoted readers who doesn't love Loki now? The art is also great as I understand it Jamie McKlevie does the characters and the action and Mike Norton does the backgrounds and dear god the backgrounds the first panel has a flying Miss America in it and beneath her is New York and it looks awesome the little changes because it's earth 212 things should be different and if you look closely you can see that the statue of Liberty is different it looks awesome. In conclusion this story ticks all of the boxes it's got action great dialogue and sets everything up nicely this is undoubtedly going to be one of the series of Marvel Now.

    FF

This story is written by Matt Fraction with art by Mike Allred. This is a story about Scott Lang and how he is coping with the death of his Daughter Cassie. This is a series I won't be buying one because I've never been a big Fantastic four fan and two I don't have the money but this story surprised me. Now the person who killed Cassie was Doctor Doom and Ant-man wants revenge and apparently this is going to be a running plot for the book and boy is it off to a good start. What Ant-man does is he hitches a ride on a Certain pick haired girl friend of Johnny storm who may or may not be joining this team. When I say Ant-man hitches a ride he shrinks down and infiltrates an art gallery honorig Doctor Doom you may see where this is going. What I loved is how clever this story is because Ant-man gets attacked by Dust mites and small micro doom defense drones this story is very clever very weird and is a whole lot of fun. This story ticks all of the boxes it's fun and has some great charcter work and sets the story up nicely and has a seriously epic ending. The art by Mike Allred isn't my favourite but fits the tone well and shows how light hearted this story is. In conclusion FF is a whole lot of fun with plots being set up good character work and some fun artwork.

    Cable and X-force

This story is written by Dennis Hopeless with art by Gabriel Hernandez Walta. This is one of the series I am considering buying because I love cable and I'm a huge fan of the current X-force and out of the two X-force books coming out this one looked the most promising. This story centres around Forge and takes place in I think it's the arctic in his base that was destroyed a while back in Astonishing X-men. Now when we last saw Forge he was mad nuts even and was attempting to create mutants of his own now when I saw the cover to this series I thought what the hell if Forge doing there? I wanted to know how he is sane enough to join team and this story answers that question. This story doesn't really set up plot lines or anything it just sets the team up and answers questions. Now (Spoiler) forge is made sane again and the way it happened impressed me I thought some one like Rachel grey was going to end up digging around in his head giving him a telepathic brain purge but it doesn't happen like that Forge actually fixes his own head and its clever even if its a bit slow it does answer questions. The art fits the tone very well with it showing forge's head as kind of a strange fantastical place and the colours add to that as well. In conclusion this story answers questions and begins to gather the team together its quite slow and doesn't really set up any plot lines but its a solid story and the art fits the tone well.

This one-shot varies from truly clever and brainy stories to awful stories that don't make you want to buy the series i.e Nova but this issue is a bit pricey so only buy it if your are interested in the series or you have some money to spare.

I can't wait for FF to start, really looking forward to what Matt Fraction has in store for Medusa, She-Hulk, and Ant-Man; I am enjoying what he is doing with Hawkeye, so I'm positive things will be just as awesome here. That, plus Michael Allred's artwork... so exciting! Please check my mini-review of Marvel Now! Point One: Ant-Man here:http://bit.ly/QCDJ6lComments and feedback are always welcome!...

      Point none. 0

Marvel NOW! Point One is a strange thing to review, for many reasons. Basically, this is meant to be our introduction into Marvel NOW!, and does it's best to introduce new titles and characters, but reading through it just felt disjointed and underwhelming. The first problem is the main story, the one that serves as the structure or frame of the whole issue. Here, we basically see Nick Fury Jr talking with some guy from the future. And it was bad. The thing is, the new Fury (I'm going to call him...
