    Better on a second audition?

I made the point in my last Marvel Divas review that I’m a huge Black Cat fan and that if you’re not a fan or indeed fond of any of these characters you’re probably not going to enjoy this.

This book continues the same formula as the previous issue with the four female super heroes Black Cat, Firestar, Photon, and Hellcat living their everyday non hero lives.  The book continues the story soon after the last issues revelation.   Now I have to say this series is the closest thing I’ve read, in the world of comic books, to a Chick Flick if that wasn’t already obvious from the title, so if you’re into Chick Flicks this might be right up your alley.

This issue is better than the previous one, and it looks like some pretty interesting and possibly more action orientated things are in store for the future issues. Black Cat is starting to fall back into old habits and Hellcat has been left with a very difficult choice that could really impact her and someone else’s life.

Now the cover art isn’t as good as issue one’s cover, but it still does a good job with all the characters faces except Black Cat’s which seems to have striking resemblance to a younger version of G4 TV’s X-play Co-host   Morgan Webb. The internal art has stayed the same as last issue and still does a fairly good job at portraying the characters for the most part.

So let me sum it up with this. If you liked the firsts issue then you will like this, if you didn’t like the first issue, then you won’t, and if you weren’t sure about the first then read this anyway.

Now, by its own merits I liked this issue, it certainly was better than the first, mainly due to the ending which leaves reader with the great sense of foreboding and the promise of a good next issue.

All of my favorites and the book still sucks:Marvel Divas #2

Ok,let's skip the semantics. This book sucks.I didn't review the first issue because I wanted to give the book as chance.Firestar,Pulsar,Black Cat,Hellcat are all really good characters.I like them..I really do,but why have this flashy superhero style covers and pretend this is an action packed book when you get into it....it is the worst thing you will ever read.Is this Marvel's attempt at getting women to read comics? Is that what this is? As a male should I stop reading this now and save the trouble.I mean the back and forth banter between them is so lame.

I'm giving this a 1 out of 5.This i the biggest disappointment in Marvel History.
