Marvel Studios made one hell of a debut with Iron Man back in 2008 and the studio has since released 8 more movies. Last week saw the debut of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (here in the U.S., that is), and we here at Comic Vine couldn't help but wonder which movie the site's crowd loves the most. More than 300 Viners voted and the race wasn't close. Like, at all. Only 3 projects earned more than 10% and there's a moderate gap between each of those, too. So, which movie stood confidently over its competition? According to the voters, the latest also happens to be the greatest! Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier wins!

    Poster by Rich Kelly

Not only did Steve Rogers' sequel establish a plot that'll have a major impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's future, but it also aimed to give the core characters more depth. We saw more of Rogers dealing with the modern era and its policies, Black Widow was more humanizing, and characters like Nick Fury and Falcon were given a fair amount of attention. They managed to strike a good balance with the tone as well. Just enough humor was sprinkled in to offer some big laughs yet it never drowned out the more serious demeanor of the story.

This was without question the best display of hand-to-hand fighting we've yet to see in a Marvel Studios movie and watching the super-soldier unleash was simply awesome. It's also worth noting that our very own Tony "G-Man" Guerrero gave the movie a 5-star review. Lastly, Anthony and Joe Russo will work on the 3rd Cap movie, so it's safe to assume we'll see some proper follow-up on this film's big developments!

Check out the poll results below. Comic Viners, Thor isn't very pleased...

Viner Post for Captain America: The Winter Soldier is by War Killer

"The movie had a great balance of plot and action, giving all of the characters a time to shine and allowing the story to breathe, while still weaving some epic action scenes into it perfectly. The storyline itself also felt like it mattered, not only giving you an idea of how big of a threat Cap was facing, but even after the threat was defeated you could feel the impact it would have on not only the characters, but the entire Marvel Universe."

Viner Post for The Avengers is by Lvenger

"The Avengers was an exceptionally groundbreaking and amazingly well put together film even with its flaws. So that edges it out for me over The Winter Soldier just about."

    No Caption Provided

Did you vote for Captain America: The Winter Soldier? If so, go ahead and tell us what your favorite moment from the movie is below. And, seeing as we don't want to make the other voters feel left out, you're welcome to share a favorite scene from whichever movie you voted for, too!

I'd say my enjoyment of the movies goes:

    1. Winter Soldier

    2. Avengers

    3. The Dark World

    4. Iron Man

    5. The First Avenger

    6. Iron Man 3

    7. Thor

    8. Incredible Hulk

    9. Iron Man 2

I really, really didn't like Iron Man 2...

Kudos to @war_killer for getting The Winter Soldier Viner argument. Even though I rate TWS as second to Avengers, it's only by a little much as TWS was a phenomenally brilliant film that was exactly what Marvel needed to get back in the game.

Also Thor deserved way more votes than The Dark World, it's criminally underrated.

    Winter (Soldier) is coming...

    ...oh look, he already came.

Do not quote this and imply innuendo. Everyone saw it COMING (see what I did there?) a mile away.

I agree with Winter Soldier being number one but I think Avengers: Age of Ultron may dethrone it next summer. My full list goes like:

    1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

    2. The Avengers

    3. Iron Man

    4. Thor: The Dark World

    5. Captain America: The First Avenger

    6. Thor

    7. Iron Man 3

    8. The Incredible Hulk

    9. Iron Man 2

im not gonna lie, hype got in my eyes when i first saw avenger. when i went back and watch it again to me it felt like an over glamorous meh movie. The only high points of the Avengers were Tom Hiddleston acting and the climax action scene. Winter Soldier had a great story, with compelling character development and multiple intense action scenes. Other than the action scene with the team Assembling to beat alien armada, Avengers felt a little stale.

Though Avengers got my vote, it's perfectly understandable why Cap 2 won, since it's awesome. Time to rank again:

    1. Avengers

    2. Cap 2

    3. Tie: Iron Man 1 and Cap 1

    4. Thor 2

    5. Thor

The other three can be put in any order as 6-8. Also, how in the heck did Iron Man 2 get more votes than Thor 1?

I am surprised that the Thor sequel got more votes. The first was pretty entertaining, but the second was really the first real misfire from MCU.

Avengers got my vote but it's just a sliver above Cap: Winter Soldier. I really liked them both and saw them both twice within a few hours of the first viewing. Truly enjoyed them both almost as much.

Iron Man 2 was the first MCU movie I saw in a theater (and it was actually what brought me back to the comic book world).

How ashamed of that should I be?

Yes, it was "fun" but that's about all it was. I compare it Marshmellow fluff. Its there, you can see it, but it has no substance. Whedon could have spent a little more time on the story and a little less time making everyone "oh so witty".

Thanks, I was actually surprised to see my comment in the article. lol But I do agree that Avengers was truly groundbreaking and all around amazing movie. But for me the solo movies should be what pushes the universe forward. The Avengers was the epic finale to what was set up in Iron Man, IM2, Thor, and Cap: TFA. But following The Avengers, while I did like both IM3 and Thor: TDW, Captain America: TWS is the only movie that really strived to both expand and have a lasting affect on the MCU.

My entire issue was with the ending. I get why they did it that way, but then don't write yourself into that corner. Even with Hydra, there are still cells out there and they made it clear there is clean-up to do. The worst part was listening to the commentary and finding out that the nuke had exactly as much thought put into it as it seemed like - they just wanted a deus ex to take care of everything, so that's what we got.

Iron Man 3 is far better than the first one and Thor 2, also the Dark World isn't nearly as good/funny/exciting as the first one. And I dislike Avengers too as an Avengers fan but as a movie fan, I think is a good movie.

The Avengers remains my top favorite but I really liked Winter Soldier.

I'm still on the fence about Guardians of the Galaxy. I want it to suceed very very badly but the director did make the turd that was Movie 43 so I'm just afraid that the humor won't always work.

I'm not really a fan of these movies, they're pretty overrated.

I think I voted Avengers, but for me it could go either way between Winter Soldier and Avengers.

But can I say; for everyone bashing Avengers. You do realize Avengers was the culmination of 5 movies prior to it right? Avengers was a part six of a six issue mini series. When do we pick up an event title and expect the last issue to rehash everything that happened before? We want the last issue to be an all out action ballsfest right? We want the cool stuff we waited for to be in the last issue right? The plot should've been established in the first five movies right? So why is everyone talking about plot in Avengers?

That's the point though, the Avengers wasn't even "an all out action ballsfest" It was just the heroes fighting some no name aliens and Hulk beating Loki like a rented mule. There was zero plot, which is okay if you're dazzled by the action, but the action was even lackluster compared to Iron man and Winter Soldier. Other than having a bunch of heroes in one movie, it did little else. It also felt like Avengers was a direct sequel to Thor, which, in my opinion is THE weakest of the solo movies.
