    A Brand New Start

This comic really reminds of what Spider-man is all about. He's a geeky teen who has spider powers and uses them to take on villains. Without going into complex storylines like ASM or USM, not that i'm saying their not good, Marvel Adventures Spiderman amazes by going back into peter's early days as Spiderman, with a few twists. In this universe, Peter hasn't met MJ yet, but he has met Gwen Stacy. George Stacy is a lot younger and knows peter's Spiderman. Also, Peter is dating Sophia Sanduval, or Chat, who has the ability to talk to animals. Anyways, lets get to the review! The Plot: The issue begins with Spiderman busting a Torino family safe house. After Spiderman swings away, Gwen is shown interviewing people who saw the action, calling them gwenterviews, since she hopes to one day be in journalism. Gwen is getting some weird answers from the public when she hears the police saying that at a deli a little while away, Spiderman is attacking another torino gang. At the deli, a judge named Clive Baraby is discussing matters with the gang about how to prove them not guilty so they can be back on the streets again. Spiderman intervenes trying to prove that the judge is taking bribes from the crime family but when the police show up, Spiderman is unable to and swings away. Meanwhile, Gwen is interviewing more people about Spiderman and gets some more weird answers. The next day in History class, Peter is drawing costume designs for himself and isn't paying attention in class. The teacher then asks him to explain one of Genghis Kahn's methods in battle. Peter does and keeps it in mind for something else. After school, Peter goes with Gwen to interview some more people about Spiderman. Meanwhile, at the torino mansion, Berto Torino, the head of the crime family, starts to devise a plan of how to trap spiderman and defeat him. At the Mandarin house, Tombstone and a bunch of thugs of the torino gang are having a meeting with Clive baraby. Spiderman attacks the meeting while Chat calls the police and get them to come over to the house. Spiderman is gaining the upper hand when he accidentally hits his head on the ceiling and starts to limp away. The thugs follow him, including Clive Baraby. Spiderman reaches the door of the Mandarin House and opens it with the thugs still in pursuit shouting "Genghis Kahn!". A wave of cops is behind the door and they see Clive Baraby holding a gun and arrest him. Spiderman joins Chat on a rooftop and it was revealed that Spiderman was supposed to fake his leg hurting, but actually did hit his head. That night, Peter still with the bump on his head, goes on patrol. Gwen is meanwhile finishing up her story about Spiderman and is saying whether he's a hero or not remains to be seen. The End... for now.
    Good Parts of this issue:
    - The classic feel of the issue.
    - Spiderman using something he learned in History to take on a gang of thugs.
    - Gwen's gwenterviews
    - Captain Stacy knowing Peter is Spiderman.
    Bad Parts of this issue:
    - None that I can see.
This is a great new start for Spiderman and i'm hoping that this series will continue to be just as good.
    5 out 5 stars!
