Sgt. Fury
My son and I are catching up on some reading finally and enjoyed this issue. This issue gets a couple of groups lost in time. Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandos head to the Tower of London to do a little site seeing when they get transported in time back to ancient Egypt. Meanwhile the Avengers are doing the same. It seems a couple of sorcerers are messing with the time continuum and have accidentally pulled both groups into the past.
My son was not familiar with Sgt Fury and his rag tag group. He thoroughly enjoyed them. Dum Dum with his comments and the way Dino was hitting on Tigra made him chuckle. Of course, the best part was Hulk for him. Hulk does a little of his usual smashing, but shows a softer side around the kitties. I thought it was pretty funny how hulk was petting the cats and looking for them in the tower of London. Funny stuff.
We both enjoyed seeing the Howling Commandos doing their thing in the fight scenes. I'm going to have to dig up the old issues of the Howling Commandos I have and read those with him.
He rated this a 4.5, a little more generous than I would have been. I didn't like all the jumping around in time, one panel in 1894, the next in 1250 BC, and then off somewhere else in the next one. Seemed like a lot of wasted space/story to me. More could have been put in the story if it wasn't jumping around so much.
