Called by his friend Von Hansen in Sardinia, Martin, Diana and Java find the archaeologist in a coma at the hospital of Nuoro. The doctors do not pronounce on the causes of coma and Mystere has to reconstruct the movements of the last hours of his friend. The investigation leads him into the abyss of Golgo, where among tunnels, prehistoric tombs and Etruscan inscriptions, Martin and friends come face to face with the Scultone, a reptilian monster that will try to kill them.
