One of the most influential writers of the 1990s. Mark Waid was born in Hueytown, AL on March 21st, 1962.

Mark Waid wrote and edited many of DC's flagship titles, including Flash, Action Comics, JLA and Legion of Super-Heroes, as well as primary Marvel titles, such as X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four. He was also the writer of the acclaimed series, Kingdom Come. Waid helped to create the "Speed Force," which members of the Flash mantle in the DC universe rely on for speed and power. Waid is also the co-creator of Bart Allen aka Impulse.

His current work includes Irredeemable, Incorruptible & The Traveler all of which are properties of Boom! Studios. He is also the Creative Editor for Boom!
