Good characters, setting, and atmosphere but a mediocre story

This new Green Hornet series takes place in 1941 as Britt Reid is the owner of the Daily Sentinel newspaper. He also happens to fight crime as the Green Hornet with his sidekick Kato as they try and give off the impression that they are criminals themselves. I really like that the story is a period piece rather than a modern retelling which we often get with things like this. The story of this issue is related to corruption with the governor but I won’t spoil anymore of it than that. It is simple yet engaging and seems to give off the impression that this will be an episodic series similar to the old radio serials (although I might be wrong). The artwork here is somewhat simple to fit with the humor while also being detailed enough to catch your eye. Although it might go against the episodic formula and old school style I would like a little bit more involving stories or perhaps some episodic stories with threads of information that carry on through multiple issues. As it is this is a very simple story with a lot of potential in the setting and characters. I say give it a look if you are into older characters like the Shadow or the Lone Ranger but otherwise hold out a little longer and see how this series progresses.

The Character design is amazing, especially for green hornet and Kato, not to m...

I've been a Green Hornet fan for quite a while now, ever since I saw him, and Kato appear in the re-runs of the 60's Green Hornet TV series, staring Van Williams as the Green Hornet, and Bruce Lee as Kato, but more so after their appearance in the re-runs of the 60's Batman TV series staring Adam West. I was however only a small fan then, and it wasn't until Kevin Smith's Green Hornet came out that I started to like the character more, as I loved that run, but dropped it after he left. I have ho...
