Mark Millar Will Not Be Directing Nemesis But Something Else Instead
Edited By gmanfromheck
Back in early November, we got word that Mark Millar would be directing a superhero movie based on a new character. Then early this month we found out about his next project with Steve McNiven, Nemesis, a new character created by Millar. Millar mentioned that Hollywood was already interested in a movie adaption for that. Everyone naturally assumed that the "superhero" movie Millar would be directing would be the Nemesis adaption. Turns out that's not the case.
Bleeding Cool squashes that rumor. The movie Millar will direct is not Nemesis. Studios are not allowed to even look at it until Millar releases the material through Creative Artists Agency in February. Without even seeing what Nemesis is about, two studios have made offers based on Wanted and the early buzz on Kick-Ass.
That means we still have no idea what Millar will be directing. Apparently he is writing the screenplay right now. Is this good news or bad news? I am interested in seeing what Nemesis will be like. I'm sure it will eventually be made into a movie. This means that we'll be getting something else "new" from Millar. Hopefully it won't delay any comics that he's currently working on.
It's going to be an original character. So it won't be something that already exists. It's a bummer but that also gives him more freedom.
"F*** Nemesis. I'm sorry but the idea for that character? That's the lamest character ever. A Bruce Wayne-like character who even dresses kinda like Batman yet is crazy like Batman's arch-"nememis" The Joker? Let me ask this.. What about that ISN'T SUPER LAME?? "
didn't he say it was a prase for batman just trying to do a new turn on him. Millar usually right extrememly well. We'll know if it's lame when it comes out. The pic looks kinda stupid, only time will tell
"Wow that character looks just like Red Robin "
In terms of the costume, yeah I agree. But in terms of badassery, I'm anticipating that this dude'll be pretty badass.
How many movies of Millar's comics have been made into a movie (I counted two already) in the past few years, and because of that why is it taken forever for us to get a freaking Green Lantern, Flash, Captain America, Avengers, Ant Man, Hawkeye movies, ect?
