I miss him and seeing his power rings and martial arts. If they were just going to kill him off and replace him with Zeke Stane as Tony's main big bad, it's pretty much failed to make an impact since Stane is a forgettable villain.

We need Mandarin back, and he needs to be powerful and resourceful again, have him take his kingdom back and make him like the far-eastern Doctor Doom. IM needs a really formidable threat again these days.

Not until the current comics are written by the social justice brigade. Some of those folks are even offended by the characters that are overly masculine. Mandarin is not only hyper-masculine, but he is also an all-evil ethnic bad guy, and those writers, with their all-inclusive policy, could never have a villain like him fight white guys like Iron Man, because that's just racist and stuff.

Yeah, most modern writers hate the idea that Mandarin is hyper-masculine. They'd retcon him into a nerd if they could get away with it.
