Little bit of topic, but I think that Story of My Life is the worst story about the Mandarin that there has ever been. It's a satirical tale that was based on a real-life incident of a director and his wife that were kidnapped by the father of Kim Jong-un. Mandarin in that story is acting like a hypocritical child with mental illness. Completely out of character for him. I think John Byrne was the only writer that was truly able to understand the psychology of the character and his persona. His Mandarin was a subtle, complex, charismatic, unforeseeable evildoer. He also wasn't ashamed of emphasizing the fact that Mandy is Chinese, which later writers were very ashamed of emphasizing.
