Man-Thing is accidentally transported to the frozen Himalayas! And a group of expeditioners might need his help!

Wading through the Everglades, the Man-Thing heads into an area where two men are about to test a weapon. Startled by his presence, one of the men shoots the Man-Thing with the weapon. Instantly, the Man-Thing is dissolved and transported to a snow-covered region far away from the swamp. As he is about to pick up a strange-looking device in the snow, the Man-Thing is attacked by a pack of wolves. After beating the wolves into the ground, the Man-Thing moves onward, not knowing where he is going and yet sensing that he does not belong in this icy environment.

Meanwhile, a party of explorers is seen several miles away. They are searching for the abominable snowman. A group of three—Russell & Elaine (husband and wife) and a fellow explorer names Roger—are abandoned by native guides who have been helping them find the area where they believe the Yeti exists. Russell encourages the group to press on, while Roger makes inappropriate advances at Elaine. She refuses him and runs ahead to join her husband.

After several hours of trekking through the snow, the explorers are hit by a powerful ice storm. As they head for the shelter of a crag of massive rocks, Russell loses his footing and is swept down the cliff. Elaine and Roger take refuge in the rocks and wait for the storm to pass. After the ice storm clears, Elaine insists on finding her husband, Russell. Roger tries to convince her that he is dead, but she protests and begins her search.

At the base of the cliff, five hundred feet below Elaine and Roger, Russell has survived the fall in a snow drift. He is alive but has suffered several broken ribs. As he regains consciousness, Russell is attacked by a huge Himalayan brown bear. In his weakened condition, Russell is no match for the giant bear. Lumbering in from the distance, the Man-Thing senses the stressed emotions from Russell and begins fighting the bear. As the battle ensues, the bear begins to see that he is outmatched and fear strikes the huge mammal. The Man-Thing grabs the fear-struck bear which begins to burn—for whatever knows fears, burns at the Man-Thing’s touch. The bear slumps into a pile burning flesh and Russell passes out from the shear stress of the experience.

Several hours later, Russell awakes in a cave. The Man-Thing is by his side, silently staring at him. Russell, a scientist by nature and by profession, tries to communicate with the swamp creature, but the Man-Things looks passively into his eyes. Russell concludes that the monster must not be a threat to him, and his fears are abated.

The next day, Elaine and Roger continue their search for Russell. As they travel, they discover the dead wolves left behind by the Man-Thing. They recognize that a powerful force—yes, a monster—has destroyed them. Huge footprints still remain in the snow and Elaine and Roger conclude that the abominable snowman must be responsible.

At the base of the cliff Russell and the Man-Thing begin a long climb up to the top. Russell straps on his climbing gear and helps the Man-Thing, as hour after hour, they inch their way up the icy wall. At the summit, Elaine and Roger are huddled in a tent. Elaine is determined to continue the search for Russell but Roger opposes her. He has his mind on her and the abominable snowman. He advances on her and she slaps him in the face. Leaving the tent to cool off, Roger discovers Russell just as he reaches the top of the cliff. Outraged that Russell is still alive, Roger shoots him with his rifle as his body topples over the cliff. Immediately below, the Man-Thing catches Russell’s body and continues to climb to the summit. Reaching the top, the Man-Thing gently lays the body of Russell in the snow and approaches Roger. Roger, filled with fear, begins shooting the Man-Thing, as the bullets pass harmlessly through his swampy body. Elaine emerges from the tent wondering what the gunshots are all about. Roger’s gunshots start an avalanche and Elaine and Roger try to escape. Elaine injures herself and cannot run. She cries out for help but Roger runs like a coward. As the tons of snow are about to bury Elaine, the Man-Things leaps on top of her to protect her. Will they survive the crushing weight of the snow?
