Later, while Havok was rejoining the X-men, Malice possessed Polaris, while the Marauders attacked her. After this, Malice learned she was stuck inside Polaris, unable to escape. it was insinuatied that Malice's power may be have connection to the earth's electromagnetic field. After possessing Polaris, Malice became the field leader of the Marauders, leading them in the all-out demonic invasion on New York City known as Inferno.
After Inferno had ended, the High Priestess of the Savage Land, Zaladane, kidnapped Polaris claiming to be her long lost sister. Bringing her to the Savage Land, Zaladane stripped Lorna of her mutant magnetic powers (replacing them with negative emotion based size and strength). Due to this process the permanent bond between Polaris and Malice was weakened and then severed and Malice was not heard from again for a long time.
She eventually resurfaced under orders to possess Polaris again by Mr Sinister but instead tried to possess Havok to kill Polaris as revenge on Sinister for getting stuck in her body. In the end Malice got stuck between the two with both trying to hold onto her to save the other. Sinister took her and apparently destroyed her for her betrayal.
A New Malice?
A new Malice appeared years later. It is currently unclear whether she was the same being who had tormented Polaris years earlier, or a clone like many other Marauders have been cloned. This Malice was a cybernetic being instead of a psionic one, and she possessed the Omega Sentinel via an e-mail virus. During the Messiah Complex, the New X-man Pixie stabbed Karima with her SoulDagger which seemed to expunge the Malice entity from her systems. Her whereabouts since then are unknown.
Malice can 'bodyhop' from one person to another, possessing them and control all of their actions and thoughts. She can also connect her mind to another beings. She used to be a being of pure psionic energy but now in her latest form she is a cybernetic virus infecting the Omega Sentinel (Karima Shapandar). It is unknown if she can still bodyhop to organic beings.
