In Kingdom Hearts she is what you would call "the master of darkness". She kept trying to stop Sora from continuing his journey by sending many heartless after him. She turned into a dragon after Riku released her heart with the Dark Keyblade.

In the tale of Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent made her first appearance. The evil fairy showed up atthe palace and placed a curse on Princess Aurora saying that on her sixteemth birthday Aurora would prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. Soon after, a few good fairies take Aurora and go into hiding.Maleficent searches and searches but can't seem to find them. Finally, Maleficentsends her raven to find Aurora. Once Maleficent finds Aurora, she tricks the princeinto a trap and kidnaps him. Then, she casts n spell to entrance Aurora into prickingher finger. When this plan succeeds, Aurora fulls into a deep sleep.The good fairies help the prince to escape Maleficent, and go to the princess. Maleficentputs many obstacles in the way of the prince, but the prince prevails.Infuriated,Maleficent turns into her dragon form, but the prince wins the battle and piercer her in the heart with his sword.
