Amara aka "Magma"

The New Mutants were soon captured by Selene after finding Amara, and Amara was readied for sacrifice. Selene was using her powers to drain Amara's life force, but a distraction made her knock Amara into a nearby pit of lava. This awakened her latent mutant powers of Lava Control and she overcame Selene. To Learn More about modern civilization, Amara's father then sent her to live with the New Mutants in the United States. Amara adjusted quickly to the outside world and was an integral member of the New Mutants. Amara visited Nova Roma, but it shattered her life after she found out that life in Nova Roma was all a lie. She found out that Nova Roma was actually a place populated by kidnapped and mind-wiped victims of Selene who created the city and not an ancient civilization. She was told her real name as Alison Crestmere, the mutant daughter of a British ambassador and she left Nova Roma in search of her real family, finally armed with her real life history.

On several occasions after leaving Nova Roma, she ran into trouble and was captured eventually by the Church Of Humanity, only to be crucified on the Xavier Institute's lawn with other mutants. She survived, but fell into a coma the day after she awakened from the attack. She stayed in the coma until Elixir healed her after sneaking into the infirmary with Hellion, who were both students at the school. She awoke with explosive rage and then fled the school. She caught up with the New Mutants teammate Cannonball, she was calling herself Amara once again. She claimed to know that the life she was told to be false was actually true. Amara spent some time as a member of X.S.E. before returning to Xavier's as a teacher.

Magma found love with Antonio Argento, a mutant with similar fire powers. The couple were exploring the inside of a volcano when M-Day occurred & caused Antonio

Magma in the newest incarnation of the "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants"

During a battle between the Young X-Men Magma turns dust into glass by heating her sand form, shatters rockslide to pieces, and is taken out by Wolf Cub. Currently she has been captured by Donald Pierce whom is posing as Cyclops using a image inducer.

Powers

Magma's powers are pyrokinesis and geokinesis, meaning she is able to manipulate fire and earth. She is able to use these powers to create earthquakes, cause magma to come up from the ground, make her own body glow incredible bright, and generate lava blasts from her hands ( since lava is matter and not just energy, these blasts have physical force as well as intense heat).
