Magik: Storm And Illyana # 1

Truly a ground-breaking addition to the Marvel Universe, Magik: Storm And Illyana is the series responsible for turning me

It tells the story of Illyana Rasputin, the little sister of X-Man Colossus, of her abduction from the Xavier Institute For Higher Learning by the sorcerer Belasco, and her subsequent training in the otherdimensional realm of Limbo by alternate reality versions of X-Men Kitty Pryde and Storm. Rich in dialogue, action, and heart, Magik consistently compels the reader to root for its young protagonist, without seeming forced. It keeps one engrossed from start to finish, as Illyana rises from innocent girl to the demonic ruler of Limbo, due in part to her tutelage under Belasco himself in the ways of black magic. Chris Claremont  has done a remarkable job of creating this dark fairy tale, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
