Standing in the limelight is Death, on the stage where Wesley and Norma Snow are acting “Macbeth”, and she’s an actress who never gets her lines wrong. While Ned is struggling to make sense of the maze of deception he’s fallen into, the abominable General Grisham is given a taste of what scorn and disgrace feel like, by virtue of a clever stratagem worked out by Poe and Dick Carr. But everybody’s following a script written by someone else, the finale of which is never the one that’s hoped for. Only she, the Grim Reaper, plays the grand finale of her match with an implacable hand.
