In the city of Eureka, people live on coal and die of lead… namely, of the stuff that Sheriff Coleman and his clutch of henchmen hand out very liberally. Furthermore, the unruly town boasts other attractions as well: racial violence against Italian immigrants, unpunished crimes and the ghost of a young woman demanding revenge. Another shred of memory captures Magico Vento, just in time for him to realize his name is top of the list of matters for which Sheriff Coleman intends to devise a ‘final solution’.
