I love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mad Hatter
Character » Mad Hatter appears in 736 issues.
One of Batman's most recurrent enemies, Jervis Tetch (A.K.A. The Mad Hatter) is obsessed with Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, basing all of his crimes on the novel. Jervis is often depicted as a joke-villain but is a serious threat to Batman with his powerful mind-control technology.
He should definetly be in the next Batman movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Boo hoo he won't be serious enough waa.Big deal. He's a great character, funny, and would be a great character as a crazy guy in the movie."
Thanks for backing me up, man. It dosen't have to be 100% realistic. IT'S A COMIC BOOK MOVIE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the character, but I I doubt Nolan would want him.
Mind Control wouldn't really work in a Nolan movie. He wants realism. They'd have to REALLY change the character's MO for him to work in his movies.
I think the Mad Hatter could work in a Nolan movie, especially if they played off of him like he was in Serious House on Serious Earth, with that whole pedophile aspect.
the realistic version people keep pitching is making him a pedophile that drugs people which more than likely won't go in a PG-13 flick
"Then make it an R Flick (It's what Dark Night should have been.)the realistic version people keep pitching is making him a pedophile that drugs people which more than likely won't go in a PG-13 flick
"
ok, first off will never happen, 2)Warner brothers want the movie pg-13 so more people can watch it so they can make more money off of it, and 3) DC & WB said they wouldn't be making any R rated films after Watchmen because it didn't bring in as much cash as they hoped. and they wouldn't suddenly make an R rated Batman flick out of the blue after the last 6 were pg-13

Still. One can hope, no?

"I think you could have a pedophilic character in a PG-13 movie- it would just have to be more subtle; hints and clues and all that. Then again, movie ratings *are* pretty picky, so it probably wouldn't fly, anyway.Still. One can hope, no? "
true , i suppose it would work if it was just alluded to, and since it would be a big budget picture it could get away with more
Nolan has earned leniency with the Dark Knight to be able to have a pedophile as a villain in his movie. As far as mind control goes, He could torture his victims into thinking they are Alice from the book, or program them. There are plenty of fables and rumors about government brainwashing, and this might be a good story for gordon and his daughter Barbara. Pushing Gordon over the edge would be cool.
I like Mad Hatter as a character, and I'm sure that if I were to write some corny fanfic that was realistic I could try and pull him off.
But I doubt that he'd make it to the movies as a main villain. Maybe as part of a gang, as a crony, who manages to extract information out of people or controls people with his words, like Hitler.
Eh, no. We all know it'll probably be The Riddler. I would love a reference to Solomon Grundy, just for gigs...like Batman passing by a sewer grate and hearing "born on a Monday..." being groaned. = D
Personally, I would love to see Nolan's take on the "Heart of Ice" Mr. Freeze setup. The first movie was very much about the discovery of what makes a hero different than a villain. The second was about how a hero takes on someone with no rules or patterns...taking on anarchy incarnate. It would be interesting to see the third be about "what happens when the villain is a villain to be the hero for someone else"?
Yeah, my dream for the next film is Riddler and Harley.
Personally though, I'd rather Black Mask over Mad Hatter. He'd be awesome to have in a new animated series, but... in terms of movies, he's harder to work with. And Black Mask hasn't had as much exposure, and he can work in the Nolan universe.
That's a really good idea, actually. I think that, given how the latest movies have been, they could really pull off an awesome Mr. Freeze."Personally, I would love to see Nolan's take on the "Heart of Ice" Mr. Freeze setup. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mr Freeze character, but I'm unsure how they could do him in their realistic world without making a Marvel-like movie plot... =/
