Wrapped in a cover by Kim Deitch (Stuff of Dreams), who also writes the introduction, these gorgeous classic comics bring back to life the farcical comedy of screen legend Mabel Normand. Directed by Mack Sennett back in the day, Mabel's film persona always brought vexation to the lovable codger and hypocritical prude with a self-confident smile. It was always said that her talent rivaled that of Charlie Chaplin. Included are strips featuring her frequent costars Fatty Arbuckle and Ford Sterling. It's like having your own festival of comedy shorts in one place!
