Lyja, a Skrull, possesses the body armor which gives her power to shapeshift into both animal and human form. She is well known for her marriage to Johnny "Human Torch" Storm.
Skrulls, an extraterrestial race of shapeshifters, are long time enemies of the Fantastic Four. Lyja's is one such Skrull, and her first mission was to infiltrate and destroy the FF, as assigned by Paibok The Power Skrull. The plan involved secretly replacing the real Alicia Masters, The Thing's blind lover. The plan fell through she instead seduced Human Torch and the two eventually married one another. The long running facade eventually came to light and the group discovered that real, human Alicia was actually being held captive by the Skrull nation. The FF rescued her, but Lyja seemingly died in the process as she sacrificed herself for Johnny when Paibok attacked.
Later, they discovered that she had been reanimated by Paibok. She vowed vengeance and journeyed with Paibok to kill the Human Torch. Johnny successfully defended himself but destroyed a college campus in the process by going Nova. Despite her actions, Lyja realized that her love for Johnny had not died, and again turned her back on her Skrull cohorts in favors of being with Johnny and the FF, fighting the good fight.
Power and Abilities
Like all Skrulls, she has the power to shapeshift into anything. When Paibok manipulated her, she was given the power to project laser blasts from her hands.

Lyja is a member of the Fantastic Five and she now married to Johnny Storm and had a son named Torus Storm. Torus had his mother's shapeshifting powers and his father's power of fire.
Marvel Zombiverse
When the Marvel Zombies attacked the Skrull planet, Lyja was one of many skrull that defended their planet, but she was eventually turned into a zombie. When the Fantastic Four of earth-616 came to their reality, the zombies attacked them. Lyja was later decapitated by Black Panther and her head was destroyed by Storm before she could take a bite on the Human Torch.
