Lucrezia was the illegitimate daughter of Rodrigo Borgia, the powerful Valencian who later became Pope Alexander VI during the Renaissance and the younger sister of Cesare Borgia. Ruthlessly betrothed by her father twice before her thirteenth birthday, in order to secure political alliances. She was also rumored to have been sexually involved with her father and brothers. The Borgia later came to synonym to the ruthless Machiavellian politics and sexual corruption alleged to be characteristic of the Renaissance Papacy. Lucrezia was cast as a femme fatale, a role she has been portrayed as in many artworks, novels, and films

    Marvel:

Lucrezia died from complications due to giving birth to her eighth child on June 24, 1519. The infant did not live, and Lucrezia succumbed to infection ten days later. She was buried in the convent of Corpus Domini. Her soul was then sent to a Splinter Realm of Hell controlled by Mephisto. Hundreds of years later, in the twentieth century, a man named Howard Mullins purchased a mirror once belonging to Borgia . He believed that the mirror reflected the true nature of the person looking into it, and showed it to his wife, Karen. The image staring back

at them was one of a hideous woman, which led Mullins to suspect that his wife had been dishonest with him. He renounced her, and Karen committed suicide by leaping from the top of a building. Realizing that he had been wrong, Howard attempted to smash the mirror, only to see Lucrezia’s face staring back at him, laughing. Later, the demon Satannish would steal Borgia’s soul from Hell, along with the souls of four other infamous characters throughout history to form his Lethal Legion. Satannish imbued Lucrezia with superhuman power which he could augment as he saw fit. She was given the name Cyana by Satannish, and empowered with the ability to poison others with her kiss. In addition, he fitted her with razor-sharp fingernails, with which she could poison her opponents with a mere poke, or a scratch. Satannish promised the Lethal Legion that he would resurrect them, if they helped him to capture the souls of the West Coast Avengers. The Avengers had beaten him previously, and Satnnish was still infuriated with his defeat. Cyana took part in the brutal beating of US Agent. The Lethal Legion then fought Hangman, along with West Coast Avengers teammates Hawkeye, and Spider-Woman. While Lizzie Borden, also known as the Axe Of Violence, killed Hangman’s former lover Stella Houston, the Lethal Legion used the opportunity to abduct Mockingbird.

Mockingbird’s abduction brought the West Coast Avengers to Satanish’s realm. Unbeknownst to Satanish, however, was that Mephisto had stolen into the realm using the visage of Hawkeye to conceal himself. He demanded the souls back that Satanish had stolen, and in the ensuing battle between the two, Satanish drained the Lethal Legion of their powers, in order to win the fight. Weak, and powerless, the Lethal legion was easily captured by the West Coast Avengers. However, the souls of the Lethal Legion were destroyed in the battle between Mephisto, and Satannish.

    Powers And Abilities

Cyana was a normal human woman of average size and build for awoman of her age, who engaged in regular physical activity. Her abilities were strengthened by the power of Satannish, and could be increased or decreased at his will. Satannish also transformed Lucrezia’s physical appearance to be blue-skinned, with a poisonous kiss, and razor-sharp talons that were also poisonous.
