Lori was a senior at High School in Cynthiana when she first met Rick Grimes. After being invited to a New Year's party by Rick's younger brother, Jeff, she learned he was in the process of attending college for police administration. There was a definite attraction between the two, but Lori was to go off to college also. Although they were apart they kept in touch. Soon after college, Lori returned to Cynthiana where her relationship with Rick grew stronger and they soon married.

With Rick's successful career within the Police force, their family received more good fortune with the news of Lori's pregnancy. Born to them was a son which they named Carl.

History

Unfortunately during an incident involving Rick attempting to capture a convict, he was shot in the chest that resulted in hospitalizing him as he fell into a coma. As the walking dead begin to rise in the town of Cynthiana, Rick still laid comatose at the local hospital. Lori makes a decision for the safety of her young son, Carl, and she leaves him at the hospital praying that he will be alright.

Accompanied by her husband's partner, Officer Shane, they make their way towards Atlanta to stay with her parents and in the hope they can find some sort of safety from the ever increasing hordes of undead. Emotionally upset over leaving Rick, she confides in Shane. Receiving comfort for the first time in months she succumbs to having passionate sex with Shane during their journey to Atlanta, to which immediately she deeply regrets.

Arriving in Atlanta, they find that the city is completely overrun by the undead. Joining with other survivors, Shane, Lori and Carl make camp just on the outskirts of the city. In the following weeks they survive little attacks and work hard to ensure they do not attract the attention of larger undead groups. Still upset that she had left Rick behind, her grief would be lifted after one of the survivor's return from a scavenging trip into the city not only brought back extra supplies, but her husband also. Lori eventually revealed she was pregnant, though no one is exactly sure if it is Rick or Shane's baby. She gave birth to a baby girl, Judith. When the Woodbury Army, enemies Rick had made, made an assault on the prison the group was currently living in, Lori and Judith were killed in the final stages.

Lori Grimes

Lori Grimes is played by Sarah Wayne Callies in AMC´S The Walking Dead, this version of Lori is very close to the comic book character. She had to leave her husband when Shane assured to her that he died. Then she found that her husband was alive and Shane lied to her, so she tried to rebuild their relationship, breaking Shane´s heart in the process. Helping with the house chores Lori tried to gain stability in Hershel´s farm. She has been managing to keep close to her family.

She has an active role in First and Second season of the series.
