One more issue to go
Issues 1-5 have been very graphic with violence and a little bit of sexual content. If you can stomach axes through heads, plenty of gunshots and brutal bashing of skulls then chances are you'll be enjoying Locke & Key. The story is full of suspense and will make a great movie provided Joe Hill contributes to the screen play. I've heard it's already been optioned for the movie rights. Depending on the casting and director, it has potential to end up in B-movie hell.
About the story, a father of three is bludgeoned brutally. He was a beloved high school counselor murdered by one of his students. We don't find out why until Issue 5. Keyhouse is a family estate in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. After the murder, the children and their mother leave town to Keyhouse for safety per instructions the Dad left when he was alive. The house is full of enchantments, not all of which are fun or pleasant. It's the youngest boy Bode who discovers their secrets. The mystery lies with the spirit trapped in the well who calls herself Echo.
