Lobo
Character » Lobo appears in 1130 issues.
The last of the Czarnians, Lobo is known and feared across the universe as a bounty hunter who never misses his mark. Super-strong, immortal and unstoppable, the Main Man has frequently clashed with Superman, although they have on occasion found themselves on the same side.
Who Could Play LOBO In The Movie? Should He Be CGI?
We all know that Guy Ritchie is on board for bringing LOBO to the big screen. Apparently the script is being worked on and they're looking to start filming next year. The big question is, who could or should play Lobo? Comics2Film asked one of their sources if there were plans to get a body builder or wrestler to capture Lobo's physique. They were told that while Lobo has to look a certain way, the actor doesn't necessarily have to.
What? Does this mean that Lobo will be CGI? Thinking about that brings back flashbacks to the jello-Hulk in Ang Lee's 'movie.'
They go on the mention that it could be makeup along with CGI enhancements like in Hellboy.
The next question is do you need a big-name actor or just get someone that can act the role? According to this source, one name keeps popping up. Clancy Brown.
Do you think Clancy Brown could be right for the role? What about the previously mentioned Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Comedian from Watchmen)? Should it be some big dude with muscles? All CGI?
Why don't they just do what they did with Ron Perlman in Hellboy and use prosthetics on him. It worked wonders. And Ron Perlam could do Lobo all day long. Remember that Lobo is basicly Satire, and Perlman can bring some humor to the character. Clancy could work too. Clancy can work anything, but we need a deep guy.
goldenkey raises a good point. A dressed up Lobo could work. Just as long as he doesn't look terrible like the Thing in the FF movies.
Brad Garret ...he did the voice in STAS/JL and he's a pretty big guy, and I'd go with the Hellboy treatment
HELL YEAH!!!!!! Brad Garret is Lobo, and as far as muscles prostetics can take care of that

Im behind this, he would be perfect, he can do it
Perlman ftw
@King Saturn: Thanks. Its just this whole concept seems whack to me. Why is a Lobo movie supposedly moving forward when DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. can't get the damn ball rolling on the other far higher profile characters like Wonder Woman???? Aaarrggghhhh. Also with Guy Ritchie doing it? Its just a weird combo.
Ugh am I the only one who can't stand the sight or sound of clancy brown, I think they should just cast an unknown
This is just stupid then. I love Clancy and all but this is just stupid plan and simple.
Why would you do this when you have 2 well 3 actually if you count James Preston Rogers trying to be Lobo now. But the 2 I'm talking about is Andrew Brynarski and Jeffrey Dean Morgan that can pull off Lobo without CGI or a muscle suit. It's just stupid same with the script being on Earth instead of in space like it SHOULD BE !!!
First of all Clancy Brown should have been Lex Luther! I mean come on everyone who's played him has made him lame! (Kevin Spacey included!) Clancy does a great job on JLA Unlimited he should be Luther in any up coming Superman project! As for him as Lobo, I can see it. He is a very good actor, I think he could pull it off. I think Brad Garett has a great voice for lobo but can picture his face as Lobo.
@Jotham said:
"I could see Stone Cold playing Lobo. But he is a shitty actor, so.... no. lol.
Good God. Sorry. Well, anyway as per request. "
I nominate the dude who played the Comedian or Mickey Rourke...
Dwayne Johnson might be able to pull this off...He's big enough he would just have to act the shit out of it.
If it's a CGI film then get Clancy Brown to vice him, if it's a live-action film then get Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play him.
"They were told that while Lobo has to look a certain way, the actor doesn't necessarily have to. "
sooo does this means that megan fox is viable ?
I certainly love Ron Pearlman and don't doubt for a minute that he could do it and Brad Garret was great in the cartoon. But I think the person with the best voice, attitude, sense of humor and look (if they CG'd him to look a little younger like they did to Patrick Stewart in X3) would be Hulk Hogan. I'm not a wrestle fan but he has such a wonderful Bastich voice and look and his sense of humor is very along the lines of Lobo (maybe darken up his jokes a bit so he would be even more Lobo-like)
Guys come on, this is just a bad Idea period...
Just think for a second and let it set in... LOBO... on Film. Not a good concept. A: LOBO is lame, B: He would not translate well to film.
there are tons of DC characters who deserve a big-budget film more than LOBO.
WonderWoman
Flash
Martian Manhunter
Green Lantern
HawkMan and HawkGirl
Atom
Blue Beetle
Phantom Stranger
that's just a few that don't have movies yet. I know a few are supposed to be getting some but they don't yet.
Mabye I'm the Only person but, I think an Atom movie would be amazing, Imagine him on the big screen, now that would be a site.
I think lobo should be CGI, He should be voiced by Bard Garret the one from The Tv show "Super-man the animated series" The Only Main Man
Vinnie Jones, Micky Rourke, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jason Statham
The reason i mention Jason Statham is cause it's a Guy Ritchie movie. Same goes for Vinnie Jones.
Top choices would be Rourke and Morgan, though.
I've said it before but I think Jason Momoa would fit the role nicely.Besdies he and Routh are the same age so if they ever wanted Lobo in a Superman movie they could have him.
