Ugh, this isn't the 90's anymore.
Lobo
Character » Lobo appears in 1130 issues.
The last of the Czarnians, Lobo is known and feared across the universe as a bounty hunter who never misses his mark. Super-strong, immortal and unstoppable, the Main Man has frequently clashed with Superman, although they have on occasion found themselves on the same side.
Warner Bros. Finds a Director for Lobo Movie

I love how all these posts are saying things like "DC sucks" or "DC can't make good movies".
Truth be told - it's WB decision which DC characters get made into a movie. If I didn't say I think there trying to sabotage every project that isn't Batman or Superman. Did you here that one of the people who's involved with the Flash Script - wrote wrath of the titans - no joke. It also doesn't help that they hired the director of Journey 2 and C&D:TROKG for Lobo.
Everything that's in bold is true. End of discussion.
You wanna know how to do a Lobo movie right?
Hire Quentin Tarantino. He might do the Main Man some justice on screen.
I see this as an entirely risky venture for WB to be attempting something like this. WB's not good at pushing DC's "edge" too much when it comes to comic films (:;coughs:: Jonah Hex ::coughs:: ), so for them to attempt Lobo seems a real ballsy move. I guess this will just be one of those "lets just wait and see" things...
We don't even have a Flash or Wonder Woman film yet and they're going for Lobo? All I want to know is why? Before I started reading comics, I had never even heard of Lobo (or Jonah Hex), so I have no idea why they feel the need to focus on these characters. The public knows the Justice League, so just focus on them.
- Warner Brothers still cannot get a Wonder Woman or Flash movie made and they can get a Lobo one greenlighted?
- There more they do the more they confuse me
He shouldn't have his own movie. He should be in a Superman one. Like the would be comic...
"Alan Grant on Lobo and Superman (circa 1994): "For some time now, Barry Kitson and I have been talking about doing a "Lobo / Superman: Last Sons" team-up, wherein we [would] explore the deep relationship possible between two men from strikingly similar backgrounds—one the sole survivor of a destroyed world he will forever mourn, the other the sole survivor of a world he destroyed himself and still chuckles about sometimes (courtesy of Wizard Magazine)."
I love this idea=]
Bout damn time. I hope this guy does Lobo some justice. It needs to be rated r. Lobo isn't some kid friendly kind of stuff you take your family to. This is some Heavy Metal kind of stuff and I hope that guy realizes it. We need alot of hard drinkin, ass kicking, blood spilling, cigar smoking, big boobing stuff to make this a good Lobo movie. Ofcoarse the story is what matters most to me, I just hope they dump that Earth crap idea. The original rumors about this movie was Lobo going to Earth and making friends with a Earth girl. To hell with that, unless she has DD size rack and wears an outfit you wouldn't see on cable tv.
I love my Lobo DC and Warner. Don't frag it up for us bastiches.
@Haters in the thread: Frag off, bastiches!
Green Lantern suddenly looks really good right now... Journey 2, and Cats and Dogs sucked... Good thing I don't really like Lobo

i can see q doing it. if you want the movie to bomb with bad acting and nonsensical explosions then hire michael 'i ruined transformers and teenage mutant ninja turtles, because im an a$$hole and i dont care about canon' bay
1) NOOooooo! Not a Lobo live movie! They won't get what Lobo s'possed t'be! A parody of extreme comic book characters from the late 80s/early 90s!!
2) NOOooo! Liefeld's ruinning Lobo with that ugly artwork!!
3) No need to make a live movie, we all know it won't be as good as this one!!

No R rating for Lobo: well, you might as well film another Howard the Duck movie.
lol, so so true. Why make a lower rating for a character who's not really intended to be kid friendly in the first place. Personally I think this is the guy to get to make a Lobo movie :)
Idk Lobo but I remember he was somehow cool in the 90s animated series.
Maybe he's an Alien Biker and Pirate landed on Earth? Or maybe a space adventure. Or versus Zombies. Could easily be a Grindhouse type movie. Like Ash and the Evil Dead.
Gory like Blade. Maybe there's a twist where we find out he's a villain. and maybe an easter egg like a Superman cape or green lantern ring.
Is this going to be a standalone movie?
Idk how you make a movie about a villain without connecting to the larger DC Universe.
You know how no one really cared about a "Blade" Movie long time ago? Lobo might actually be a character worth exploring with a good script and director who can actually make you care about him. But how can we make a character be liked if he killed off his entire species in his home planet? Simple: " The planet was full of A-holes, and the Universe is better off without them bastards". There is your tagline.
Rumors are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be playing Lobo.
At first I didn't like this, but now thinking about it, it could be the perfect choice for Lobo.
After watching some clips of The Rock from his WWE days, he totally acts like Lobo. He definitely has the physique, and he can easily nail the facial expressions of Lobo (if you see the way The Rock cock his eyebrows... It's a lot like Lobo.)
It also makes sense he would be a top choice to play Lobo. Brad Peyton (who directed Mysterious Island 2.) has previously worked with The Rock, and The Rock recently tweeted he was possibly going to play a DC character. It all seems plausible.
As a Lobo fan, I'm totally cool with this. Even though it will probably be rated PG-13, it can work. They did an amazing job with Lobo in "Superman: The Animated Series" so I'm not really concerned with the rating.
