So... What do we think about Dwayne Johnson playing the Main Man on the big screen?

This kind of contradicts the whole DC/WB "three year break" we've heard about...

Dwayne Johnson may be the Rock but he isn't Metal enough to be Lobo.

Eh, I can't see The Rock as Lobo. I'm also curious as to why WB feels the need to make a Lobo movie, which will more than likely bomb, instead of attempting to construct a shared universe with characters that are far more popular (Wonder Woman, Flash, etc.).

@cameron83: Lobo is kind of meant as a very dark comedy, its never been all that serious.

No... This is horrible news. I'm sorry, but the Rock cannot handle anything close to a role than resembles anything near Lobo. But I guess this is what you get when the movie is being directed by the guy who did Cats and Dogs: Return of Kitty Galore... smh..

Well if he officially gets casts as Lobo, expect to not see me on the Vine anymore, I'll be busy jumping off a cliff with a big middle finger held out just for WB.

I guess I'm in the minority that can see Dwayne easily playing Lobo. He has the physicality, the attitude, the quirky facial expressions, and charisma for Lobo. Plus I loved him in the Attitude Era of WWE. He was so good on the mic.

I'm a huge Lobo fan, I would have loved to see Kevin Durand, or Mickey Rourke if he was younger. JDM already played The Comedian... So I wouldn't really want to see him play Lobo.

Plus Rock will have a semi-built in crowd. Just hope they get the script right for this. Regardless if it is PG-13. They can still make it work. (Lobo episodes of S:TAS were some of my favorite Lobo moments.)

They should make as SHAZAM movie.

Lobo seems like a pointless movie choice, especially if they want to set up for JLA (which does seem to be the intent of the 3-year hiatus). I'm also not extremely fond of the choice of actor. Dwayne's acting is hit-and-miss at best, so I'm not seeing him doing the role very well.

But I'll just wait and hope to be proven wrong.

I'm actually...between hoping for this and dreading this because I don't know the Rock enough in films enough to fully judge if he can do Lobo but I also want to see Lobo on film finally. One thing for sure is, he needs to be Metal (Heavy to Full-on Death Metal) in order to pull off Lobo.

agreed,you also know the funny thing,lobo is supposed to be PAST mtv,in fact,lobo is supposed to be past rated r and mtv may even call him inappropriate (i'm talking about his bad@$$ character),but you know what they may do,they may make lobo into a.........family friendly comedy (blood rushing out nose).....i now feel that a fan given a $20,000 budget can make far better movies than wb can ever do,at this point that is how i feel.

however i HIGHLY doubt there is gonna be a lobo movie,especially for the rock...he would do terrible and looks like strained poop.

also he is a terrible actor

Why are they even considering a Lobo movie? There are so many movies that should be made before that happens... so many...

Dc animated movie would be awesome, live action would almost definitely suck.. Hard.

Well maybe it would work if it was directed by whoever directed 300 and the writer from sons of anarchy

i can see dwayne only as black adam. but as lobo? nope can't see that happen in my opinion
