    Lobo vs Santa Claus

    Story:
This wacked out yet holiday special starts with two old couples arguing over the fact the husband got fired from his job for ‘rigging toilet breaks’ and that they have no Christmas presents for their kids. Later, a book was thrown at their front door. They picked it up and started reading a story about Lobo and his ‘Christmas adventure’. In the story, an intoxicated Easter Bunny hires “The Main Man” to kill Santa Claus for not only gaining more attention than any other holidays, but is eliminating those who challenges him. Lobo infiltrates him fortress, brutally eliminates his elf-guards, and confronts Santa Claus…or rather, Kris ‘Crusher’ Kringle. They fought using Kukri’s, and despite Kris putting up a fight Lobo hand the upper hand and kills him. Later, Lobo looks up the kids that were good and bad for the best year and decided to ride Santa’s sled to give the children presents; he starts throwing missiles at the bad kids’ homes while the good kids don’t get anything. The two couples were overjoyed by the story, however, the book was good for one read and then the book disappears. Sadden, the husband takes his shotgun and shoot his kids, which they intended to do from the beginning.

    Review:
This was my first time reading a comic about Lobo. I’ve seen him in the Superman: The animated series and Justice League, watched several episode of his web series, and seen cameo’s of him in comics, but never in his series and for having this opportunity was a ‘rocking experience’ for me. I consider this to be VERY VIOLENT & GORY, but it’s more about the humor of how Lobo can be thrown into places like The Wizard of Oz and bomb it all to hell. One of the things I’ve notice was that Keith Griffen (the writer of this comic) was mentioned when the couple was reading the book. The art was terrible to look at. It had that Mr. Grinch design and it was THE MAIN THING from keeping me from reading through the story, and after a while I manage to get over it. I was a bit turned off by the writing and I had to read this TWICE to understand this story better. This is for Lobo fans and anyone who wants to see him beat the living hell out of Santa, so I wouldn’t recommend this to any new coming reader… Especially for a Christmas present.

Positives: "The Main Man'  vs Santa Claus, an decent Christmas story.
Negatives: THE ART IS AND WRITING IS TERRIBLE, too much gore.
    Overall: 2/5 stars.
