Liu Kang is a Shaolin monk that follows the teachings of the Shaolin White Lotus Society, and was the latest Mortal Kombat champion before he was killed by his nemesis Shang Tsung. Later Liu Kang would return as an undead corpse hungry for revenge. Liu Kang's request was granted. He was made a god, the new Protector of Earthrealm."

Baraka

Baraka is one of the most vicious warriors in the MK-Verse. He belongs to a race called the Tarkata, a crossbread between demons of the Netherealm and denizens of Outworld. He possesses long blades from his forarms that slice through his opponents. He fights for those he call "master".

Dark Kahn

The combination of the evil beings Darkseid and Shao Khan, Dark Kahn was born when the MK and DC universes began to merge. Dark Kahn appeared in the comic Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe Beginnings, which was included in "Kollectors Edition" versions of the game

The Shokan Prince Goro is a four armed huge warrior that was undefeated for a long amount of time. A 2,000 year old half-human, half-dragon, Goro remains undefeated for the past 500 years. He won the title of Grand Champion by defeating Kung Lao, a Shaolin fighting monk.

Henge is a rock ninja from the Nightmare Realm.
Kabal

Once a member of the Black Dragon clan, Kabal gave up his life of crime and put his fighting skills to more positive uses. He joined the New York City police force to kombat the underworld element he once served. This transition helped ease the pain of dark memories. But when New York was invaded he underwent another transformation--one that would afflict him physically. Severely injured in battle, he is doomed to wear a life support system forever

Kintaro

Kintaro is portrayed as a minor character in the Malibu Comics Battlewave series. Stronger and more agile than his predecessor he is enraged by Goro's defeat. Kintaro vows to take revenge on the earth warriors responsible.
Noob Saibot

Quan Chi

Quan Chi is the leader of the Brotherhood of Shadow and the arch sorcerer of the Netherealm. He is responsible for resurrecting both Scorpion and Noob Saibot as demons and has a large back story in most of Mortal Kombat. He serves the fallen Elder God Shinnok.
Rain

Rain is Edenian royalty who was orphaned during Shao Kahn's invasion. Rain was adopted and trained by the Edenian resistance where he became one of their greatest warriors. Rain betrayed the group to Shao Kahn for personal glory.
Reptile

Reptile is a minor character in the Mortal Kombat series by Malibu comics. Reptile is desperate for a master whom can revive his wiped out race.
Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung is Shao Kahn's arch sorcerer. Originally from Earthrealm, Shang Tsung absorbs people's knowledge and prolongs his life by stealing and consuming the souls of his victims, Shang Tsung has played host to the last nine Mortal Kombat tournaments in Earthrealm, stacking the odds in favor of his master.
Shao Kahn

The powerful and evil ruler of Outworld who seeks only to conquer other realms.
Sheeva

A female Shokan and the master jailer for Outworld, Sheeva serves Shao Kahn and acts as a bodyguard for his resurrected Queen Sindel.
Shinnok

Shinnok is a fallen elder god and is the current ruler of the Netherealm.
Skarlet

A creation of Shao Kahn's, Skarlet was created from the blood of countless warriors and molded into a deadly assassins by the Emperor himself. She is normally chained in the Coliseum and is only released in dire circumstances or special missions.
