A young but brave warrior from Hyrule, Link spends most of his time rescuing Princess Zelda, or anyone else in need of a hero. Edit

Link is an extremely brave hero that has a long lineage of heroes from his family. Coincidentally, they are all named Link. (Or whichever name you decide to give him!) The Following is a list of games in which Link is a legendary hero. NOTE THAT THESE GAMES ARE NOT IN THE ORDER OF WHICH THESE EVENTS HAPPENED. People swear that all of the Zelda games are not tied together. Others swear they are. That is for you to choose. The order they are currently is in by the date in which they came out.

  • 1986-1996

The very first game Link debuted in was The Legend of Zelda on February 21, 1986. In this game, Link is described as a young boy who saves one pf Princess Zelda’s nursemaids, Impa, from Ganon’s henchmen. Impa tells Link about what has happened to the kingdom of Hyrule and Princess Zelda. Link then proceeds to go on an adventure to save Princess Zelda and to retrieve the pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom from Ganon. Link is eventually able to retrieve all the Triforce fragments from the guardian monsters protecting it. Link is able to infiltrate Ganon’s fortress in the Dead Mountain with the Triforce of Wisdom. He then battles Ganon and kills him with a silver arrow that he had found. Link frees Zelda then picks up the Triforce of Power and gives it to her. Zelda thanks Link and tells him that peace has returned to Hyrule.

    <a name="Zelda II: The Adventure of Link">

The next game released was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. This takes place shortly after The Legend of Zelda. Link is nearing his 16th birthday when one day he realizes there is a strange Triforce mark on his left hand. A panicking Link seeks out Impa where she would tell him the “Legend of Zelda.” The story tells about an older incarnation of Princess Zelda. She was born from the king of Hyrule and had a brother. When the king died, the prince was supposed to inherit the Triforce. However, he could not inherit it and went looking for the remaining pieces. When he learned that Zelda knew where they were, he asked her but she refused to tell him. Furious at his sister, he sent a wizard to make her reveal where the pieces were. The wizard failed, and out of anger and before he fell on the ground and died, he casts a sleeping spell on Zelda. The Price stored the sleeping Zelda in a room in the North Castle hoping that one day she will re-awaken. After this event he ordered that every female born in the royal family will be named Zelda. Afterwards, Impa gives Link six crystals and a scroll written in the Hylian language. Link understands it for some reason even though he has never learned this language. Link learns that he was chosen to seek the Triforce of Courage, so he begins on his adventure by putting each crystal in every palace in Hyrule so it will penetrate the magical barrier protecting the Great Palace. Meanwhile, Ganon’s henchman is seeking revenge against Link and hopes to revive Ganon with Link’s blood. Link was able to open the door to the Great Palace where he is given the Triforce of Courage by an old man. He returns to Zelda’s North Castle and is able to reawaken here. Zelda thanks Link and the curtain falls over them.

The next game is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This story takes place long before the previous two games happened. Ganon had turned the Golden Land into the Dark World; however the Seven Sages had placed a magical lock to imprison Ganon in the Dark World. Only the Seven Sages or their descendants can open the gate. Later Agahnim begins searching for the Seven Maidens, who are the descendants of the Seven Sages. Meanwhile, Link is a young boy who receives a telepathic message from a girl named Princess Zelda. She reveals to him that she is imprisoned in a dungeon in the castle. Link sets out to rescue Princess Zelda, on his way he discovers his uncle was wounded in the sewer. Link receives a sword and shield from his uncle and is able to locate Princess Zelda. The two of them escape the castle to a Sanctuary where Zelda would stay while Link goes in search of the three pendants in order to retrieve the Master Sword. Link travels to the Eastern Palace, The Desert Palace, and the Tower of Hera where he would defeat the bosses and recover all three pendants. Link is able to retrieve the Master Sword, however he quickly learns that Zelda was captured again and taken to the castle by Agahnim. Link travels to the castle in an attempt to rescue Zelda, but upon his arrival, he learns that Zelda is the seventh maiden needed to free Ganon. Zelda disappears into the Dark World and Link engages in a battle against Agahnim. Link is able to defeat Agahnim but he sends Link to the Dark World anyway. Once Link arrives on the Dark World, he discovers that he is standing on the top of the Pyramid of Power where the Hyrule Castle is supposed to be in the Light World. Link rescues the seven maidens and battles Agahnim again. After Agahnim is defeated, Link encounters three more bosses: The six Armos Knights, the three Lamnos, and the Moldorm. Once the three is defeated, Link is finally confronted by Ganon. The two battle each other and Link finally defeats Ganon with a silver arrow. Link takes the Triforce back from Ganon and wishes for everything to be returned to normal. The Light World was restored and the Master Sword returned to its original place.

Start up screen / Wind Fish Egg.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening takes place right after A Link to the Past. Link had went training abroad to be ready if there was ever a threat like Ganon again. While sailing back to Hyrule, he was shipwrecked and awakens on Koholint Island. Link was taken in by a man named Tarin and his daughter Marin, who looks like Princess Zelda (Princess Zelda never made an appearance in this game). An owl then tells Link that he needs to return home but he must awaken the Wind Fish first. He has to gather the eight Siren Instruments first. Once the eight instruments are retrieved, Link is allowed to enter the giant egg on top of Tamaranch Mountain. There, Link faces the final Nightmare and upon defeating it, Link discovers that this is only a dream. He plays the instruments again and he is reawakened in the real world.

    Link in Ocarina of Time
    Link in Ocarina of Time

  • 1997-2001

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the next installment of Link’s adventures. In this game Link is a young orphan who is raised as one of the “Children of the forest,” also known as Kokiri. Unlike the other kids, Link does not have a fairy companion and is an outcast because of it. One day the Great Deku Tree sends a fairy named Navi to retrieve Link and bring him to the tree. Link arrives at the Deku Tree and he asks link to break a cruse that has been cast on them. Link attempts to save the tree from monsters inside it but the tree was dying anyways. Upon defeating the monsters, the Deku Tree tells Link about the Triforce and tells him to go to Hyrule Castle. There, he meets Princess Zelda and she sends him to collect three Spiritual Stones to save Hyrule. Link successfully obtains the Stones and travels to the Temple of Time.

He enters it with the help of the Stones and the Ocarina of Time, inside Link was able to retrieve the Master Sword off of the Pedestal of Time. However, due to him drawing the Sword off the Pedestal, the temple imprisoned Link for seven years until his body matures more. Meanwhile Ganondor has taken control of Hyrule and the Triforce of Power. Seven years have gone by and the Sage of Light, Rauru, awakens Link who is now the Hero of Time. Link goes on an adventure to cleanse the land of Ganondorf by trying to awaken the Sages. Link later meets a character named Sheik who guides him for awhile during his quest. Link first returns to the Kokiri Forest to discover that his friends have not grown up yet. The Deku Tree reveals to Link that the Kokiri do not grow up and Link is in fact Hylian who was orphaned during the wars. Link’s mother had been wounded and fled to the Kokiri Forest and placed Link under the Deku Tree’s care who senses that Link is the child of destiny. Link later gains the ability to travel back and forth to two time periods that makes him either young or old with the Master Sword. He continues his adventure in searching for the seven sages and eventually returns to the Temple of Time. There, Shiek reveals to Link that she is actually Zelda and she is also the last sage. She gives Link a Magical Light Arrow to defeat Ganondorf. Zelda is then kidnapped by Ganondorf, and with the help of the other six sages, Link was able to go after her. Link defeats Ganondorf and he and Zelda barely escape as the castle crumbles. Ganondorf transforms into a more powerful form calling himself Ganon. Link fights Ganon with the help of Zelda and the sages, they were able to imprison Ganon in the Sacred Realm. At the end, Zelda plays the Ocarina of Time and turns Link back into child form and Navi leaves him. Later Link sneaks into the castle to visit the young princess, the two look at each other and the game ends.

The moon that will fall in 3 Days.

Coming immediately after Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask is the first of the Zelda series to "link" to the previous game. This game starts off with Link riding through an unfamiliar forest on Epona. Epona is frightened when a Skullkid accompanied by 2 fairies attacks him. Link falls to the ground and is knocked unconcious. As Link is passed out, Skullkid fumbles through Link's pockets, pulls out an Ocarina, and flees on Epona, dragging Link along deep into the forest. From there, you must follow him, and when you finally have a grip on things, you fall inside of a giant tree. When you finally stop falling, you awake as a Deku... and are horrified with yourself. With some help from a fairy left behind, Tael, you manage to escape, and have help realizing your new look from the Happy Mask Man. This game takes place on a neverending loop of 3 day increments. You must stop the moon from falling on this new land, Termina, by going to defeat skullkid. Your help this time is a selection of masks. Some are required to get, some change your species, and some even change your age. Each and every one have a different power and help people. You have to get the help from 4 spirit gods, one from Forest, Mountain, Sea, and Desert. If you have the help of all four, then on the last day, you go to find skull kid (Whose name is Majora, souly because of the Majora's mask that he stole from the Happy Mask Man. This mask is supossedly full of an unmentionable evil and was created from a village where everyone dissappreared after it was created..) If you have collected all of the masks, you'll obtain the Fierce Deity Mask, which will allow you to look like Adult link with a badass attitude. With his Helix sword, it's easy to defeat the Majora Mask. After you beat him, The moon goes far away from Termina, and everyone who you helped is celebrating with dancing and singing, all over the country.
The Masks: Deku Mask, Goron Mask, Zora Mask, Great Fairy Mask, Bremen Mask, Bunny Hood, Kamaro's Mask, Blast Mask, Don Gero's Mask, Mask of Truth, Mask of Scents, Romani's Mask, Garo's Mask, Circus Leader's Mask, Stone Mask, Captain's Hat, Gibdo's Mask, All-Night Mask, Giant's Mask, Kafei's Mask, Keaton Mask, Postman's Hat, Couple's Mask, and Fierce Deity's Mask.

    Main Characters in Seasons.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.
When Link awoke from a dream about the triforce, he found himself in a forest he had never seen. Confused, he looked around blankly at the unfamiliar surroundings. He heard pleasant music and laughing voices echoing from deep within the woods. Link followed the inviting voices until he came upon a traveling troupe of actors. He was immediately struck by the beauty of a young woman who was dancing about in circles. When the girl noticed Link, she smiled brightly and called to him. "Welcome to Holodrum. I am Din, the dancer," she said with glee. "Would you like to dance with me? Don't be shy. It will be more fun if we dance together." She took him by the hand, and he reluctantly began to dance. Unfortunately, this blissful moment did not last long. The sky suddenly went dark, and there was a loud crash of thunder, followed by a resounding, thunderous voice. "I've found you, Din! You can't deceive me by disguising yourself as a dancer. I am Onox, General of Darkness! Now reveal yourself, Oracle of Seasons!"

Link was blown back by the tornado as he struggled against its awesome force, and Din was swept away in the wind... And then strange things began to happen throughout the land. When Onox carried off the Oracle of Seasons from the land of Holodrum, the seasons fell into chaos and the land was deprived of the bountiful gifts of nature. Life was slowly being drained from the land, and all living things began to wither. And so Onox set in motion his plan to gather the power from the withering land and create a world of total darkness. Will Link be able to rescue Din from the hand of evil, the General of Darkness? And so begins another adventure for link. In this game, you control the season with the Rod of Seasons. Each season can aid you in a different way: Fall is when leaves cover holes, Winter is when the water freezes and you can walk on it, summer vines grow on mountains so you can climb them, and spring is when rock flowers come alive and spit you to where you need to go. You'll also get an animal flute, where you have a choice from 3 animals that will be help to you on your journey. It's a random selection of which one you get, though. After fighting your way through dungeons for the essences of nature, you come to Onyx. Defeat him and you free Din. The season in Holodrum is correct, and there is nothing wrong with Nature. But the Flame of Destruction still burns darker... what plight could be next?
After watching the ending, you'll get a password to use of the next game. There is no order in which to play oracle/seasons... whichever one you want to play first makes no difference.
There are littles things that change if you put in the password.

    • Intro is slightly different.

    • Link starts with 4 Hearts as well as his Sword.

    Etc.

Buy the game guide for more information.

    Main Characters in Ages.

The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle of Ages starts off with Link waking up in a strange forest. As he started to walk through the woods, he heard cries for help coming from just up ahead of him. Link hurried toward the voice, only to find a group of monsters surrounding the woman who was screaming. When the monsters saw Link, they immediately fled. The woman who was being attacked was none other than Impa, nurse to Hyrule's Princess Zelda. Impa said she had come to the forest to search for a singer named Nayru. "Can't you help me look?" Impa asked. Despite the strange look she gave him, Link could not refuse her request. Together they found a large stone with a rune on it. Naturally, Link moved the stone, but Impa wouldn't so much as lay a hand on it. As they traveled even deeper into the forest, they found a young woman singing. Invited to sit by the group of animals that listened to the girl's song, Link joined in the circle and let the beautiful song fill his ears and penetrate his heart. This was surely Nayru, the singer Impa was searching for. Just then, Impa erupted in a cackling laugh. "Ah ha ha ha ha ha!" A darkness surrounded Impa, and a frightening shadow lifted from her body. "Nayru! Oracle of Ages! I, Veran, Sorceress of Shadows, shall make you my own!" The shadow that called itself Veran began swooping about the forest before flying straight into the body of the frightened singer. A blinding light shone forth from Nayru's body. When Link's eyes had grown used to the light, he realized that Nayru looked very strange. Her face seemed veiled in shadow, and her bright smile had vanished. A piercing, evil gaze had replaced it. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" "Now the power of the Oracle of Ages is mine! I can travel through time at will! Now a new age shall begin--an age of shadows!" And with that, Veran and Nayru vanished. Nayru was actually the Oracle of Ages who controlled time in this land of Labrynna. When the oracle was kidnapped, the flow of time in Labrynna was distorted, and strange things began to happen. Before vanishing, Veran said, "When the past changes, so does the present." Her plan was to travel to the past and gather power from the sorrows of the people of Labrynna so that she could create her age of shadows. Of course, you have to stop her. You travel in time warps, and you must find the shovel to approach the Maku tree. After getting the Shovel and save the Maku tree from being attacked, she falls in love with you. You learn you have to go across the land of Labrynna and collect the 8 Essences of Time. After doing so, you go to defeat Veran. When this happens, all order in the past is restored, therefore so is the present. But the Flame of Destruction continues to glow dark. You know what that means...

There are also changes if you put in the password before you start the game. And yes, you also get a password to use in Ages if you beat the game.

    Link in Wind Waker Graphics.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker takes place many years after Ocarina of Time. The Legendary Hyrule has sunk underneath the giant sea where this story takes place. The Wind Waker setting is a vast, great sea with little islands popping out occasionally. Each island has a special significance. You start off this game on your birthday. How grand. You're hometown is on Outset Island, and you live with your Grandmother, and your sister Aryll. You go to see your sister, where she gives you her most prized possession, her Telescope. You look through it, and spot a gigantic bird carrying a girl. You investigate, and save the girl, then return to see your sister. She gets captured by the same bird. You get the Legendary Hero's green clothes (Seem familiar?) and your family's shield a crest. The girl you saved happens to be a pirate, and her name is Tetra. You go on her ship with her, to look for your sister. The first island you get to, you find a boat, The King of Red Lions. With your new Found boat, you're allowed to travel any place you choose. Someone hints at Dragon Roost island, and off you go. Upon arriving there, you find the Wind Waker on the beach! You know have the ability to control the winds with the proper songs. You learn from the Rito Tribe- Bird-essque people that play harps- what you need to accomplish. By helping their guardian, you get Din's pearl. So off to find the other 2. The second involves the Gigantic Deku tree, and the Koroks. Koroks are leaf-essque people that play plant instruments. They aren't very welcoming to strangers, and stay very near the Deku tree, on the exception of their celebration, where they go across the land and plant new trees. Completion of that temple gives you Fayore's Pearl. The Final pearl you get from Jabun, who was originally on his island, but since it was destroyed by Ganon, he hid behind onset island. Now having all 3 of the Goddess's pearls, you set them in the Triangle islands, which in the center creates the Tower Of the Gods. Through the Trials of the Tower of the Gods, you acquire the master sword, and learn that Hyrule is underneath this gigantic sea. After you defeat all of the enemies inside the castle, you return to the Forsaken Fortress and join Tetra and the pirates. You race to the rooftop and defeat the giant bird that kidnapped your sister. Then Ganondorf comes, and you're easily defeated. Ganondorf tells Link that taking the Master Sword has fully lifted the seal, unbinding his full power; furthermore, the Master Sword has lost its power to repel evil. Ganondorf raises his sword to kill Link, but Tetra intervenes. Ganondorf grabs Tetra, and is about to snap her neck when the Triforce of Power responds and he notices that Tetra is wearing a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom as a necklace. As he calls her Princess Zelda, A Rito and the Rito Prince fly in and take Link and Tetra away. The Dragon Roost Guardian swoops into view, breathing fire and sending Ganondorf's room up in flames. You and Tetra sail back to the castle at the bottom of the sea and meet Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, the king of Hyrule and the voice of the King of Red Lions. He tells you and Tetra that the prayers of the people in the legend were answered — the gods sealed Ganondorf and all of Hyrule with him by flooding the kingdom with a torrential rainstorm, ordering those chosen to take refuge on the mountaintops. The King takes out a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom, which completes the piece in Tetra's necklace, causing her to transform into the more traditional appearance of Princesss Zelda. Now to awake the Sages. You awake the Sage of Earth, a Rito named Medli. Then you awake the Sage of Wind, A Korok named Makar. Then you sail around, looking for 8 fragments on your Triforce of courage, with the help of charts. After acquiring the triforce, you find Ganon and Defeat him. After he's defeated, you have a conversation with the King of Hyrule, then You and Zelda float to the surface in a bubble, leaving Ganondorf and the king to be buried underwater with Hyrule. You and Zelda sail away in search of a new land — with the wind as their guide.

  • POWERS AND ABILITIES

    THE MASTER SWORD

Every version of Link possesses expert skill over a sword even with little training, Link is able to beat enemies much more experienced with a sword. The master sword is more like a two handed sword but Link handles the sword with one hand, the master sword dose a lot more damage that a normal sword it can also reflect magic attacks.

    BOW AND ARROW

Link has an uncanny accuracy with a bow, most versions of the game have the bow as one of the main items of the game, in twilight princess Link gained the ability to combine an arrow and a bomb to form the exploding arrow combo.

    BOOMARANG

In almost all of the games Link has had a boomerang but it usually make an appearance around the middle of the game. It twilight princess Link’s boomerang acts like a small tornado when thrown.

    TRI-FORCE

From the original legend of Zelda game where Link recover his piece of the tri-force, all the versions of Link up the wind walker [who had to recover the piece of the tri-force] was born with there piece bound to them, the true power of the tri-force is still unrevealed it was originally kept in the sacred realm because it was to powerful for the mortal realm. It is rumoured that it is the three goddesses have bound a piece of the tri-force to links soul, and put to rest in the seared realm and when the goddesses foresees danger they return him to the mortal realm reborn and his memories erased but if he see’s or touches something, example when he touches a sword he will regain all of his experience with a sword but not his memories from his past lives for example in wind walker he picks up the master sword he will get the feeling of handling it before. It is unknown why the Goddesses wouldn’t let Link in  full position of his memories every time he is reborn.
