Lila Cheney is an interstellar rock star mutant who can teleport between planets. Edit
Origin
A natural performer since birth, a young Lila used to tell stories about aliens to her parents. Uknown to her parents the stories came from her intergalactic travels. When her mutant ability was discovered she was kidnapped by an Alien and sold into slavery. Lila eventually escaped using a Dyson Sphere, which is a colony that has been built around a star. Traveling the galaxy she became a singer and thief. These skills led to her run-in with the New Mutants. On Earth to perform a concert, she planned to sell the Earth into slavery by sending it through a stargate. Her plans were foiled when her drummer betrayed her to the Vrakanin Charasulla. Their attack on her was foiled by the New Mutants, who also convinced her to give up her thieving ways. Lila became romantically involved with Cannonball and their on-again off-again relationship continued for years. The New Mutants came to Lila's aid again when an angry woman, Marie D'Acanto, attempted to detonate a bomb at one of her concerts. D'Acanto's parents were killed by mutants and she hoped to gain revenge by blowing up the band and it's fans. Her attempts were foiled by Cannonball and Rogue.
Several years later Jornik, an alien thief, broke into her Dsyon Sphere and stole most of her ill-gotten goods. Lila and Strong Guy, her occasional bodyguard, went in search of it. They were attacked by the K'lanti, who were looking to get back their stolen goods. This attack left Strong Guy in a coma and Lila was devastated. After his recovery he still traveled with her but was also a part of X-Force & X-Factor. The results of M-Day left Lila with her powers, considered a threat by ONE she has returned to touring the galaxy.
Age of Apocalypse
Lila was Gambit's lover and a part of his band of thieves. She was assumed to be a human until her powers were unlocked by Magneto. Using her newly discovered powers she teleported the team to steal the M'Kraan Crystal.
Powers
Lila has the ability to teleport across great interstellar distances. Her powers do not allow her to teleport any distances under a light year so she must use her Dyson Sphere as a midway point on shorter travels.
