    Lieutenant Howell was first seen in My Greatest Adventure #1 - My Cargo Was Death. He appeared in a short story titled I Was King of Dagger Island.

    Lieutenant Howell is thought to have been created by John Prentice and Leonard Starr.

    Character Evolution

    Lieutenant Howell is a sensible and strong leader; however, he eventually turns against his own partner, Eddie Doyle, and knocks him out.

    Major Story Arcs

    I Was King of Dagger Island

    Lieutenant Howell is in charge of a U.S. Navy vessel and is preparing his frog suit when the ship hits a series of hidden mines. The resulting explosions causes the ship to sink and sends Howell into a concussion, thankfully Howell is saved by a First-Class Seaman named Eddie Doyle.

    The two arrive on a nearby island and are met by a group of strange natives. The natives believe Doyle to be some sort of deity and think Howell is his slave. The two of them keep this act up in order to gain the trust of the natives.

    Not wanting to pretend to be Doyle's slave for the rest of his life he ends up knocking Doyle out and bringing him to a nearby boat.

    Lieutenant Howell has no superpowers; however, he has received basic Navy training from the U.S. Navy.
