A comic that goes in depth with one of the most brilliant minds in DC? Yeah

Depends on the writer.

If it was a good comic I would.

If Paul Cornell wrote it

If Paul Cornell wrote it

So glad I picked up The Black Ring too. Really awesome story showcasing Lex off to the DCU.

If Grant Morrison or Andy Diggle wrote it.

Isn't DC going to have a villains month later this year?

#9 Edited by Nerx (15351 posts) - - Show Bio

Main villains deserve their ongoing, heck i'd even buy the obscure ones like calendar man

I dont know, Lex's main thing is his intelligence and I dont see anyone writing him consistently like that.

If it's well written, yes. I really enjoyed Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and Superman: The Black Ring.

If Paul Cornell wrote it

Totally. Azzarello would be fine as well.

Grant Morrison. Hell a Batman-Luthor conflict would be great

Only if it involves cake-stealing.

#16 Posted by XImpossibruX (5535 posts) - - Show Bio

Would love too see the inner-workings of Lex's head.

Only written properly though, Scott Lobdell may fit the bill.

Maybe..

I'd read a trade, but I doubt an ongoing would stay on my pull list

#19 Posted by Jnr6Lil (8198 posts) - - Show Bio

That powersuit looks stupid on Luthor. IMO his best look:

#20 Posted by Jean_Luc_LeBeau (82981 posts) - - Show Bio

Hell yeah. Especially if it had a decent artist working on it.

Maybe a mini but not an ongoing.

All depend who wrote it, and what direction it went. If it was someone like Azzarello (who did an amazing job of Luthor), or Morrison I probably would.

Co-signed. Black Ring was beyond awesome.

I wouldn't mind Morrison either.

Yes, I possibly would. Of course, it depends on the direction of the story and the writer/artist but I do like Lex Luthor stories such as Black Ring, LL: Man of Steel, The Unauthorized Biography, and , etc.

If you've read any interviews with Snyder and Lee about Unchained, a regular joke is that Lee draws Lex as being similar to Morrison. Quite funny I thought :P

@lvenger

Haha, that's hilarious. It's not that far apart - they're both mad geniuses xD

#29 Posted by mpierce2690 (331 posts) - - Show Bio

I'd definitely read it. It'd be far more interesting than a Deathstroke book, IMO.

#30 Edited by Lvenger (23135 posts) - - Show Bio

@veshark: Indeed. Maybe that's why Morrison writes Lex so well :P

#31 Posted by Hit_Monkey (1213 posts) - - Show Bio

I would so buy a Luthor ongoing. Loved Black Ring. Get Paul Cornell back and it's nothing but net.

i dont really like villain books, the way they are written annoys me. they are forced to be the heroes while their "villains " are needed to be stopped . i rather the villain remain a villain , especially if they are good villains .

If the creative team is good then yes.
