Lex Luthor

Character » Lex Luthor appears in 2586 issues.

Lex Luthor is one of the most gifted beings alive, whose hatred of "interfering aliens" pushes him down the path of a sociopath. Known for his "ends justifies the means" approach to life, his single-minded and often brutal focus puts him at odds with Superman.

Why doesn't lex have a helmet?

When Lex dons his green and purple battle armour it covers his whole body except his head. Whether he's fighting Superman or executing an evil scheme doesn't his head get bashed a lot and seeing as he's so intelligent wouldn't he protect his cranium?

@homeslice: @ARMIV:

In the last issue of Action Comics, it showed that Lex has an invisible forcefield over his head. No joke.

If Luthor did get a helmet, what would it look like?

Just curious, I know who Lex is and his great feats but I dont know much about his battle suit... What is it made off? what is the best that it can do? Cant Supes just rip it apart like wet toilet paper?

The original suit was a apokoliptian warsuit Lex had received from Darkseid. We don't know if that's still the same suit since it has been greatly damaged several times, and the design changed ever so often.
Superman can generally tear it apart quite easily. For protection, Lex relies on shields, which can absorb no more than a couple of hits from Supes, and, more importantly, kryptonite laced gloves.
Also, the head shields goes back to the suit's unveiling in Superman/Batman. It's not new.

@AtPhantom:
Thank you so much for the info! :)
 So its basically designed to go against Supes... I was  wondering how durable it was seems that some people on the Vine thinks too greatly of the Armor.

Besides the force field, I kinda think he doesnt wear a helmet out of vanity.

The armor has shown to be able to vaporize OMAC's, which is not a small feat. But seriously, no piece of armor can handle a guy who tears up planets for fun.

@AtPhantom: That was exactly what I was thinking! Its durable alright and very useful but it ain't made of adamantium or cosmic cubes like some people treat it.

Wow...really?
I don't want to say that that is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while but...that is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while.
Seriously.

He's vain, he wants you to see his face. If he beats you he wants people to know he did it.
