So Joaquin Phoenix as Lex Luthor, Jason Mamoa as Ares, and Callan Mulvey as a Bat villain? Would they give us a villain for each member of the Trinity?

I'd rather see somebody else. I liked him in Gladiator but also thought he could have been replaceable. I don't want Lex to have some replaceable actor, IMO.

Considering his non-mainstream choices for the last ten years, committing to play Lex would be a big deal. Plus he would probably have to commit to multiple movies. In 2010 there were news stories that Marvel offered Phoenix the role of Hulk (for Avengers) and he supposedly turned it down so I'm not going to get too excited about this news until it's confirmed.

Man, I'd love it if this actually happened. Dude was fantastic in Gladiator - he could portray the right pitch between Luthor's arrogance and insecurity.

JOAQUIM PHOENIX IS THE JOKER...If there is one thing Joaquim Phoenix can do without breaking a sweat its being bizarre. Just take a look at all of his films aside from his Johnny Cash bio. For Lex Luthor, need someone who can play a calculating villain and looks suave while destroying the world. Some people were suggesting that Samuel L. Jackson could play Lex Luthor and I can kinda see that but I stick to my original pick and that is...BILLY ZANE AS LEX LUTHOR Billy Zane as Lex Luthor would not only revamp his career but he could play the iconic rogue to the letter.

That wasn't real. He did all of that for a documentary, that was fake and mostly scripted.

Phoenix is easily one of my top five favorite actors, I'd love to see him play Lex. Best rumored person for the part that I've heard so far.

I can totally see this. Cranston would have been interesting, and he's good, but it would be hard at first to not think of Heisenberg when looking at him. I can see Phoenix as Lex without thinking of Johnny Cash.

Hmmm,I still prefer the possibility of seeing Rosenbaum as lex again,him going full on lex Luther would be cool,I know he was'lex in smallville,but I want to see him also be the industrial megalomaniacal,villain out to show the world that Superman is a danger to earth. Also,Cranston for Jim Gordon...... please(he voiced him in the year one animated feature for Pete's sake....that was awesome)

I'm trying to control my first knee jerk reaction since it'd make me a hypocrite for telling people to shut up about the Affleck thing so I'll just say I'm skeptical but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
