    Lex Luthor

Character » Lex Luthor appears in 4364 issues.

Lex Luthor, Superman's arch-nemesis, is one of the most brilliant men alive, whose hatred of "interfering aliens" pushes him down the path of a sociopath. Known for his "ends justifies the means" approach to life, his single-minded and often brutal focus puts him at odds with The Man of Steel. Luthor is arguably DC Comics' most iconic villain.

Feel free to bitch and moan on how wrong I am, but I feel Mr. Luthor is nothing more than a damn pushover. I think his title (one of which he gives to himself, mind you), is completely ridiculous!!! I feel there are plenty more powerful and smarter DC Comics supervillains than this average smart-guy who happens to have a boatload of Kryptonite!!! You take away all of his material items and all you got is a complete wimp!!! Am I not alone in thinking this, or do I not fully understand this bald-headed loser?!!!!

I feel like I'm crusading for Lex today, but what the hell.

To answer the question, I would love to see any other DC villain who actually managed to become President of the freaking United States despite being what he is.

Um it is debatable that Lex is the most intelligent Human in DC and is was able to become President as well as run more Super Villain Gangs than anyone I know as well he is the only regular human no advancements who can tango with a man who can destroy planets and chill in sun's on a consecutive basis. As well if anyone is currently reading The Superman and related titles right now they would not question this position

Lex Luther is a super-genius, he's proven himself time and again. He became president, outsmarted Alexander Luthor. He's lead most of the super-villain teams, he's tangled with Batman and unlike most villains he manages to conserve some footing. I don't know if he's the smartest human in DC, but he's up there for sure

It has been anounced in dc comics that Lex Luthor is the smartest man on earth and one of the smartest mam of any species. Also I consider Lex Luthor one of the greatest criminal master minds of our time but I think it is an draw between Lex, Darkseid, Alexander Luthor, Doctor Doom, Norman Osborn, and Anti-Monitor.

Though Norman Osborn only recently earned that tital in dark reigh and I think he may lose that tital.

So in the dc universe it is an four way tie between Lex, Darkseid, Alexander Luthor, and Anti-Moniter because it realy depends on your definition of criminal master mind and the cituation.

He's only called himself the "Greatest Criminal Mind of Our Time" in the Richard Donner movies and while they were great, Gene Hackman's Lex was kid of a joke.

Mine too. He's so cold and cruel, and is without a doubt the most cunning and intelligent villain in comics. He managed to become president,(As a villain, which has never been done) has managed to go toe to toe with Batman as well as Superman. Anyone who can find a way to control Doomsday, I would say is the greatest criminal mind of our time.

    Joker's better.

Well, that's not really saying much. Joker beats everyone.
