A scientist who appeared in "Tales to Astonish #13" (the first appearance of Groot) and was the first character to see Groot as the aforementioned character consumed wood. He was also the one to destroy Groot by unleashing termites on the alien from Planet X, who then prompty killed Groot.

Leslie Evans is in a relationship with a blonde woman named Alice, although whether she is his wife or girlfriend isn't made clear.
He is on tense terms with the local sheriff George Carter, since Alice thinks of him as a "Nice Guy".
