    First published in Le Journal de Tintin between December 1, 1949 and January 31, 1951, then in album form by Le Lombard in 1956 and finally by Casterman in 1971.

    Envoyé par César en Egypte pour percer le secret de la mystérieuse organisation du "Sphinx d'Or" dont la puissance s'étend jusqu'à Rome, Alix découvre que le chef de celle-ci se cache dans un temple du Haut-Nil appelé Efaoud. Il semble être en possession d'une grande fortune et dispose d'une arme terrible... inconnue des Romains. C'est à l'occasion de cette mission qu'Alix fera la connaissance d'Enak, qui deviendra le compagnon fidèle de la plupart de ses aventures.

    The series continues and adds more characters 0

    Following on from Alix L'Intrepide, Le Sphinx d'Or is more of the same weak and disjointed stuff we got in the first book. However, Alix gets a friend in the form of Enak, an Egyptian adolescent with plenty of street smarts. This episode is just as slapped together feeling as the first one, involving highly anachronistic scientific advancements and characters who are very out of place. We again meet up with Arbaces, a villain whose hatred of Alix is just really misplaced and he is carrying out a...
