Secret Invasion #3 (THIRD Printing Variant)
Secret Invasion #3 Invades Comic Shops With Third Printing Sketch Variant
Surprise surprise, another issue sells out. I have to say it is a nice cover. There's something about being able to see the artwork in it's pure pencil form. I do enjoy the inks and colors but black and white does have that artistic look. That's the good thing about these sell outs, in my opinion. A chance for us to be able to see the sketch versions of the art.
The comic book blockbuster event of the summer, Secret Invasion, continues to have everyone asking, “Who do you trust?” Marvel is pleased to announce that Secret Invasion #3 will have a third printing featuring a black and white Spider-Woman cover by superstar artist Leinil Yu! Join award-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis as he presents Secret Invasion #3 (of 8) Third Printing Variant, as the epic invasion of the century rages on! It’s time for the new graduates of the Initiative to show the world what they’re made of but they aren’t the only new recruits. Nick Fury has returned and with him a batch of fresh faces. Are Nick’s new Secret Warriors enough to push the Skrull horde back into space?
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Secret Invasion and all tie-in issues, as they continue to sell out quickly at Diamond! It’s the series you’ve read about everywhere from Entertainment Weekly to The Wall Street Journal—don’t miss Secret Invasion!

I have to ask, is this really necessary? How many printings did issue #1 have? I think at least three. Doesn't everyone already own a copy? Are there people willing to pay another five bucks for something they already have or have read? Yeah the added stuff here is cool. But I've already read the online prologue. The variant covers can be seen here, along with the (pretty cool) "Who do you trust?" images.
If I'm gonna get this again, it'd be when the trade comes out. Unless I see this and get really really tempted.

There's no way anyone could be surprised by issue one selling out. I'm sure Marvel had a nice hefty print run but with all the hype and great word of mouth, people are going to want to snatch this up. I usually don't like the huge "event" comics so much but this was something. Now to try to wait for issue 2!
To meet the overwhelming demand for this year’s hottest comic book event, leading to a quick sell out at Diamond (though copies may be available at the retail level), Marvel is going back to press with Secret Invasion #1 Second Printing Variant! With a gorgeous wraparound cover featuring the interior art of Leinil Yu—and the return of some familiar faces! From the superstar creative team of Eisner-winner Brian Bendis (New Avengers, Mighty Avengers) and acclaimed artist Leinil Francis Yu (New Avengers), this double-sized first issue has the jaws of fans and critics on the floor!
“I just want to say thank you to every retailer and comic reader who jumped into this with us,” said Bendis. “We have so much more to show you. This is just the beginning!”
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Secret Invasion and tie-in issues, as both continue to generate buzz and quick sell outs. Just what do the Skrulls have planned? Who are the heroes who’ve emerged from the Skrull craft? And with systematic attacks on every major force in the Marvel Universe, can anyone rise up to oppose the Skrulls? Don’t miss a single issue of Secret Invasion!

They've recently had a run-in in Wolverine over Nitro. That's when we first saw Namor's Sleeper Cell soldiers. I like where this mini's going. Place your bets on who's going to win.
900 Americans are dead and S.H.I.E.L.D. is pointing the finger at Namor! In Sub-Mariner #3, Namor races against time to find the location of the rogue sleeper cell agents before they commit more heinous crimes in the name of Atlantis. But is he ready to battle Wolverine? Writers Matt Cherniss and Peter Johnson (Powerless) and up-and-coming artist Phil Briones (White Tiger) are making waves with the new limited series about Marvel’s first mutant and his constant struggle against the “weaklings” of the surface world. Also, this action-packed issue features magnificent cover art by Young Guns Reloaded star Leinil Francis Yu (New Avengers).
After plowing through Iron Man and his armada of S.H.I.E.L.D. submarines, Namor searches for his old ally, Charles Xavier, only to find the Canadian berserker ready and waiting for a scrap at the gates of the X-Mansion! Meanwhile, sinister figures are lurking in the shadows; the rogue Atlanteans make plans to murder their “traitor king,” but the vicious Venom might beat them to the punch if he develops a taste for seafood!
The conflict heats up in Sub-Mariner #3; will all of this tension lead to an inevitable war between Atlantis and America…and more importantly, will that war result in Namor’s death? One thing is certain, the monarch of the seas won’t go down without a fight – Imperius Rex!

Okay I know nothing about the Hedge Knight. I thought maybe it had something to do with the movie, "Over the Hedge." I'm sure there's some fans out there that are shaking their heads at me.
One of summer’s most anticipated sequels arrives this June, as Marvel Comics & The Dabel Brothers present the latest adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s Hedge Knight II: Sworn Sword #1 (0f 6). Continuing the acclaimed comic book translations of the New York Times best-selling Hedge Knight novels, Mike S. Miller and Ben Avery return with Ser Duncan and his new apprentice Egg, now a year wiser since the original Hedge Knight mini-series.
When it comes to adapting this popular George R. R. Martin series of novels, Miller and Avery are hit with fans and critics alike. “The Hedge Knight is well worth picking up and remains a stunning example of both the visual and literary potential of the comic book medium,” raved Adam Volk of SFSITE.Com.
A similar sentiment was echoed by Javier Lugo of SilverBulletComicBooks.Com, who described the series as, “A great story, an excellent adaptation, superior artwork and coloring in a well-priced package, George R. R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight is certainly worth every penny spent.”
After Dunk & Egg encounter an aged knight named Ser Eustace, who soon accepts Dunk as his sworn sword, things seem to be looking up…but Eustace’s other sworn sword doesn’t take kindly to his new comrade in arms! And just what side did Ser Eustace take in the legendary Battle of Redgrass Field?
Featuring a stunning variant cover by red-hot artist Leinil Yu (New Avengers), Hedge Knight II: Sworn Sword #1 is a can’t-miss for fans of the original limited series—now available as a premiere edition hardcover. This June, the Hedge Knight rides again and you can’t miss a moment of this epic limited series!

This is one of my favorite comics. This is going to be the big one. We (supposedly) find out who this new Ronin is. Place your bets. The window's about to close. And things don't look too good for Dr. Strange. Man, first he gets shot in The Oath (great series) and now it looks like he's getting a sword through the chest. Just when he's starting to get cool again. What's going to happen when Hulk arrives?
The recent incarnation of the New Avengers doesn’t have it easy, forging their own underground movement against the Superhuman Registration act they consider unjust and finding themselves embroiled in conflicts with their former friends. But as readers will learn in New Avengers #30, it’s going to get worse before it gets better. As readers continue to learn how the New Avengers survived their conflict with Iron Man’s state-sponsored Mighty Avengers team in the past, they’ll also be thrilled to the New Avengers’ current conflict with the martial arts crime cabal known as the Hand! Throughout this top-selling story arc by award-winning writer Brian Bendis and red-hot artist Leinil Yu (one of Marvel’s Young Guns), fans have wondered just who is wearing the new Ronin armor and they’re about to find out in May.
Oh, and did we mention this all sets the stage for 2008’s top secret Marvel epic?
So don’t miss the series that ComicBookResources.Com’s Augie De Blieck called, “the premiere team title of the Marvel Universe.” Marvel advises retailers to check their orders on New Avengers, which not only ties into the best-selling ongoing Initiative storyline, but continues to sell out with each issue.
