      Quick review, short and sweet!

I was on board with this book since is announcement!  I am an old Legion fan and followed Levitz's work before.  It was my favorite book at one point.  I hoped that the book would rise up once again!  I wasn't let down!  Mind you I did not go back and read anything done before.  I wanted to approach this with a fresh look and as a new reader would.

The story pulls from current Legion, read that as Johns' Legion, continuity.  I love how Levitz pulled from this without feeling that you had to read it to get it.  His writing explained what you needed to know and the editor gave you notes to point you at what trade to read if you wanted more.  Well done here.

The emotion of dealing with an antagonist that hates you and has done some pretty bad things to you is strong.  This part of the story will see more light if future solicitations are to be believed.  The death and destruction of a world gave me pause.  I was sad to have to start here.  The issue ended too soon.  It had extra pages but I still wanted more from the story.  With that said I am on board and added the full series to my pull list!

Yildiray Cinar is new to me.  I have seen some of his work in the Teen Titans' back up but didn't really pay much attention to it because the backup was not my cup of tea.  Here he is given front row and he does a good job working it.  My only complaint would really be the people in his backgrounds seem to lose their features.  I can't draw to save my life and won't complain much about art if it fits the story and his art fits it and I hope that this launches his career!

This book gets a strong buy and the series is one to watch!

      Review: Legion of Super-Heroes #1 0

The Legion resists the forced induction of Earth-Man into their ranks while chaos fall on Titan after arrogant scientists view the beginning of time.  The Good There's definitely a powerful sense of "holy dread" to the scene where the scientists pluck the forbidden fruit, so to speak, and view the creation of the universe. Cinar's rendering of DC's iconic "cosmic hand" conveyed an excellent off-kilter awe, as if this were truly something too powerful to be witne...
