Okay how did I miss that this is only five issues? Sure we know he can't stick around the "present" now since he has to go back to his normal time so he can die, but I could see this lasting longer than five issues. Or maybe the real reason he was able to come back is because he's a Skrull. Yeah, not very likely. I wonder how many other dead superheroes can say they've sold out an issue before it arrived in comic shops? I'm assuming it has something to do with orders too. It's not like the old days where they would print a certain amount each month. I think (and I could be wrong) that they base the printings on the number of orders that Diamond receives from the comic shops then adds a few more. Either way, it's impressive. And the Secret Invasion is almost upon us...
Marvel is pleased to announce that due to an overwhelming demand, Captain Marvel #3 (of 5) has sold out at Diamond—before the issue arrives in stores! But just what could be so shocking, so jaw-dropping that the demand for this issue has reached fever pitch? What is the truth about Captain Marvel’s journey through time? And how does this all connect to Captain Marvel #4 and Captain Marvel #5, both Secret Invasion tie-ins? Writer Brian Reed said, "It's all coming to a head for Captain Marvel. Issue #3 looks like it answers a lot of questions... or maybe it just raises a million more!"
“Fans won’t believe what happens on the final page,” added Brian Bendis, architect of 2008’s most anticipated event, Secret Invasion.
Run, don’t walk, to your local comic store on Wednesday, February 13th, to get your copy of the book so hot that it’s already sold out—Captain Marvel #3! And don’t miss the end of the thrilling, sold-out limited series, as it ties into Secret Invasion!

It's about time. We have him "return" during Civil War only to be made a warden in the Negative Zone and then there's barely a mention. I think I remember reading recently that he up and left one day. Maybe now we'll find out where he went and if he visited his family. Such a big deal was made about a "character returning" in Civil War, then it was like no one knew what to do with him.
Spinning straight out of his shocking return in Civil War, Captain Marvel’s new life begins in Captain Marvel #1 (of 5)! He’s been plucked out of time before his death, but can the Kree soldier known as Mar-Vell make a difference with the scant time he’s got left? Acclaimed writer Brian Reed (New Avengers: Illuminati, Ms. Marvel) and artist Lee Weeks (Daredevil, Spider-Man: Death And Destiny) bring you a gripping epic about one man’s quest to make the world right before his end.
“Captain Marvel is a story about a man out of time,” said Reed. “Imagine you've traveled forward in time a few years and learned that you have passed away from cancer. What would you do? How would you react? If you're a proud soldier like Captain Marvel, you get mighty angry about the cards fate has dealt you, and you decide to try and do something about it. The big problem is, that there's no undoing history. Captain Marvel still dies from cancer. But what he does with his life before that time is what matters.”
Offering a unique insight into the mind of the man known as Mar-Vell, along with intense action scenes and important consequences for the Marvel Universe, Captain Marvel #1 brings one of Marvel’s greatest heroes back where he belongs! And don’t miss Ed McGuinness’ stunning first issue cover brought to life as the can’t-miss Captain Marvel Ed McGuinness Poster!
