Overview

The great heroes of the marvel universe are vanishing without a trace! What has happened to Spider-Man, the Thing, the Scarlet Witch, Captain America, and the rest of the MU's heavy hitters? Spider-Girl, the fantastic five and a-next must join forces with today's superstars to uncover the answer – and the trail leads to a major Avengers villain! Does the presence of the Watcher signify the end of this age of heroes?

Spiderman returns to the real world, only to have a dark glow in his eyes and begin acting very strangely. He blows Mary Jane off and starts getting overly violent with some muggers. When Darkdevil tries to intervene Spiderman attacks him aswell. The Troll army capture Captain America, Thunderstrike and Wild Thing and Captain America thinks that Spidergirl and J2 have ran away. He's forced to apologise when they help the captives break free. The five of them find the holding cells where Loki was holding the heroes (with Nova still caged). The brainwashed ex-captives then, back in the real world, face off against Dark Devils and some of the Avengers.
