Kyoji Yotobari, is an exorcist and minor magic-user from a long line of exorcists, unfortunately for his family trade he is manipulative, greedy, and lazy. He has a number of hobbies, all of which he takes more seriously than his job fighting evil spirits, vampires and demons.
However, when he is working, he does do his job quite well (but usually making others unwillingly help him or do the work for him). He has a “thing” for young pretty women, stating that he hates all men and that they are dirty.
It is these traits and habits that led him to take the spirit of vampire lord Guilt-Na-Zan, which had been imprisoned in a cross by his grandfather, also named Kyoji, and animate a wax doll with it so he could use Guilt-Na-Zan as his servant.
