Originally thought to be chosen by chance, Ganthet chose Kyle Rayner because he had the ability to harness the powers of the emotional spectrum. Once the Torchbearer of the Green Lantern Corp, Kyle has since graduated to embrace the role Ganthet had prepared him for, The White Lantern.

Where does this happen?

I remember reading something, may have been JLA, maybe have been Green Lantern, where Kyle ends up accidentally creating this huge enemy and then a whole "corps" of Green Lanterns from other dimensions/the future
Where does this happen?  Is it JLA or GL and what issues?
