Follow the Yellow-Brick Road to Wonderland and Beyond
Last year when I read Astro City: The Tarnished Angel, this issue of the story had to be one of most interesting outlooks on fairy-tales. Nearly everything of this book was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass as heroes and villains were shown in the flashback of the featured character - The MOCK TURTLE. This turtle themed villain apparently charish his boyhood experiences reading fairy tales and trying to experience them (with disasterious results), but eventually 'grew-up'. To me, this seemed a very interesting story because it was interesting to see characters based on childhood classics that we grew up with since we were in diapers.
