Kurt Busiek is the critically acclaimed writer of numerous titles for many comics publishers.

Kurt Busiek has always loved superhero comics. He was raised in Boston and grew up friends with fellow comic book creator, Scott McCloud. It was actually Busiek that McCloud credits for his exposure to the medium.

Kurt Busiek has written for numerous comics publishers, including long stints on Marvel's Avengers, and DC's JLA. Busiek also penned the crossover mini-series JLA / Avengers / Avengers / JLA.

Busiek may be best know for writing Marvels with artist Alex Ross for which he was recognized with an Eisner Award for Best Limited Series in 1994.

Kurt also worked with Cary Nord and Dark Horse Comics on Conan for which Busiek shared an Eisner Award for Best Single Issue Story in 2004. At DC comics, he teamed up with Geoff Johns to create a One Year Later story arc and Superman.

Kurt created the critically acclaimed Astro City. Astro City (with Homage) has suffered numerous delays because of health issues. Astro City has won several awards including Best New Series in 1996, the Best Continuing Series in 1997 and 1998, Best Serialized Story in 1998, and Best Single Issue Story three consecutive years from 1996-1998.

Busiek won the Best Writer Eisner Award in 1999 for his work on Astro City and Avengers.
