Kraven was a Russian born big game hunter and mercenary. He became one of Spider-Man's deadliest enemies until he killed himself after proving his worth. A new female Kraven has arrived to hunt Spider-Man. Her connection, if any, to Sergei has not been revealed. Edit
Sergei Kravinoff was the child of Russian aristocrats. His parents died when he was a child leaving him the family fortune. Growing up, he became employed with an African safari and learned how to track animals. He discovered a mystical serum that was able to increase his strength and agility. Using his skills, he became the world's greatest game hunter.
Sergei decided to change his name to Kraven. His half-brother, the criminal known as Chameleon, put him up to the challenge of capturing and defeating Spider-Man. Kraven saw this as his greatest challenge.
He suffered continuous defeats by Spider-Man. Eventually Kraven became obsessed with defeating his arachnid-enemy. The time comes when Kraven is finally able to get the drop on Spider-Man. After dropping a net over him, he shoots him point blank with a rifle. He then proceeds to bury him on his land.
Defeating Spider-Man was simply the beginning of his plan. Kraven then went out dressed as Spider-Man, wanting to prove to himself and the world that he was superior to him by defeating a villain, Vermin, that Spider-Man had been unable to on his own.
Two weeks go by and Spider-Man finds himself, alive, buried in a coffin. Kraven hadn't shot him with real bullets, but rather a highly concentrated tranquilizer. In a panic, Spider-Man manages to claw his way out.
Spider-Man finds Kraven at his estate. Kraven seemed to have lost his fight. He had nothing left to prove. He showed a battered Vermin to Spider-Man, proving his worth. Rather than fight Spider-Man, he let Vermin go, taunting Spider-Man to go after him in order to save "innocent lives." Spider-Man felt he had no choice.
Upon Spider-Man's departure, Kraven went upstairs and shot himself with his rifle. His life was complete.
Powers and Abilities
By ingesting mystical potions Kraven was able to grant himself various superhuman physical capabilities.
Superhuman Strength: Kraven was superhumanly strong and was capable of lifting approximately 2 tons.
Superhuman Speed: Kraven was capable of running and moving at speeds greater than even the finest human athlete. At his peak, Kraven could spring short distances at speeds up to 60 miles per hour.
Superhuman Stamina: Kraven's musculature produced less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. He could exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue began to impair him.
Superhuman Durability: Though far from invulnerable, Kraven's body was somewhat tougher and more resistant to injury than the body of an ordinary human. He could withstand great impacts and blunt force trauma, such as being punched and kicked by Spider-Man, without injury.
Superhuman Agility: Kraven's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the human body's natural limits.
Superhuman Reflexes: Kraven's reflexes and reaction time are enhanced to levels that are beyond the human body's natural limits.
Extended Longevity: Kraven's jungle potions drastically altered his natural aging process, causing him to age much slower than an ordinary human. Despite being in his 70's at the time of his death, Kraven had the physical appearance and vitality of 30 year old man.
Kraven was a brilliant tactician and gifted hunter and tracker. He was a master of many forms of armed and unarmed combat, having trained himself against savage beasts. He was very familiar with medicine and with exotic poisons and tranquilizers. He developed his own fighting style by battling jungle animals with his bare hands. He was also skilled at taming wild beasts.
Weapons & Equipment
Used various weaponry such as darts, spears, axes, nets, whips, poisons, and gases. Also used traps.
