The Koya Mount is sacred since time out of mind. It was the priest Kukai who founded a shingon-shu shrine. It consists on an esoteric Buddhism where mandalas are interpreted. His successor Shinnen created a huge sanctuary with more particularly the Kongobuji Shrine.
More of 110 buildings composed nowadays the Koya Mount. There are more than 250 000 graves of nobles and samurais.
In the X/1999, Sorata Arisugawa is a monk from Kongobuji Shrine.
